Where would one go for a good looking bit of kit in the Greater Manchester area? I'm looking for summat quite good as I guess they are supposed to last

It depends on how much money you want to part with really.

 

If you're after something expensive and classic, I would do a bit of window shopping first round St Anne's Square. There are some amazing Jeweller's around there. But don't go in until you've an idea what you want - you'll get maithered to death.

 

If you want something cheaper and 'trendy', try the Arndale for these watch/sunglasses huts.

 

Selfridges and Harvey Nick's are good too.

 

When you've bought it - don't ever lend it to Smiley.

 

(Edit: I have one very expensive watch that I'm too frightened to wear, and many cheap watches. I've never had any problems with any of the cheaper ones - so you don't have to go too mad)

St Annes Sq is accessible so may well have a look there - there's an excellent boutique for trainers just off it, so that'll work well.

 

I try to stay away from the Trafford Centre as much as I can.

I have that exact one, get to Urban Outfitters, there's tons of them. 'Gold' and with calculators!

Breitling are nice watches as are Bremont ones!

 

There are a couple of nice places in town to get one! Although you could always get one duty free in the airport if your on your travels Jules! Always a good selection

You can buy this off me if your interested. I paid ?800 2 years ago from Prestons but between forgetting I own one and not liking wearing it, I've probably had it on for a week in total. Boxed with paperwork and I've even got the original receipt somewhere. Only difference from picture is mines a quartz, not chrono...never lost a second though.

 

 

If I was buying a watch now, I'd get a Breitling.

I dont like Prestons though, as I've now been in twice....as soon as you walk in you get mithered to f**k before you can begin looking, then about 30 people shift towards the door as you start trying anything on

 

Goldsmiths at the Trafford Centre has a good choice (upstairs near the restaurants) and if you save them tesco clubcard vouchers you can get 4 times there worth there.....we end up with ?20 quids of vouchers a quarter - so ?80 off a watch

Thinking about it, he might be better with a digital.

Jules, don't waste yer time with all the so called name brands etc. I have a number of watches - all the same brand. Unique, stylish, unmatched (in my view). I like me watches like me women - slim. There's also another similarity - TITanium.

 

 

Won't break the bank but quality smutter that lasts.
