Bolton have been holding talks with the Dutch forward Mustapha Riga over a move to the Reebok. The Ghanaian born player has spent the last few seasons playing in Spain for Levante but has decided to rescind his contract with the club because of non-payment of wages. The player has informed the financially stricken Valencia based club of his decision and, once the process has been formalised by the Spanish FA, he will be free to join Bolton.

 

Riga has endured a difficult time at recently relegated Levante, and in a recent interview for Sky Sports Revista de la Liga, told me of his desire to play in England. He said "The Premier League has always been my first target. I have always wanted to play in the Premier League because it is also one of the best leagues in Europe.

 

"A very close friend of mine George Boateng always calls me - 'come to England, with your style of play you'll make it'

 

"I chose to come to Spain first, but you never know. If there is an official offer I would not hesitate."

If true, on a free, he doesn't look too bad to be honest.

Rahamat Riga Mustapha (born October 10, 1981 in Accra, Ghana) is a football (soccer) striker / winger from the Netherlands, who has been playing for Levante UD since the summer of 2005 in the highest Spanish league, La Liga. He previously played for Vitesse (1998-2000), RBC Roosendaal (2000-2001), Vitesse (2001-2003), and Sparta Rotterdam (2003-2005), for whom he scored 36 goals in two seasons.

i know you tube isn't such a good way of scouting but he has socred some good goals. this is just one game in which it looks as though he scores a hat trick, its hard to say. but it does sound as though one of the commentators calls the other a w*nker when levante's thrid goal goes in. seems like a good attacking player who likes to shoot as soon as he gets a look in on goal and after the season just gone that is what we need.
