C86 Posted October 1, 2008 Posted October 1, 2008 Lets hope they put strippers on. If its Alibobs, Noballs, BwfcSue and Missus C then I'd put a fiver in the pint pot
Tyldesley White Posted October 1, 2008 Posted October 1, 2008 Well i think it's great that the club have finally done this, it must have been pushed from the top as it was no go before, i really do think that the atmosphere at the Arsenal game has helped push things along in a big way, they now realise more than ever that the fans are so important. Slowly but surely the club are getting there, doing everything they can or being asked to do. Now for some results on the pitch
Zico Posted October 1, 2008 Posted October 1, 2008 well, I do hope all those who have been banging on about one of these for ages will now attend
george Posted October 1, 2008 Posted October 1, 2008 Lets hope they put strippers on. and solo cabins
Wigan White Posted October 1, 2008 Posted October 1, 2008 I hope it does improve the reebok experience and that the stay away supporters start to come back. If the reebok gets an atmosphere perhaps it will drive the team forward and keep us up.
Burndens Bogs Posted October 1, 2008 Posted October 1, 2008 I know there's bound to be a few teething problems, but maybe there's are a few things the club could do to avoid a cock up 1, Make sure there's plenty of bottled beer and cider. 2,Make sure the bottles are kept cold. 3, Have plenty of staff at the bars, and having English as a first language would be helpful. 4, Im not being one to look a gift horse in the gob, but - would it not have been more sensible to make it ?2 a bottle initially to speed up service, because when this takes off, it will inevitably get rounded up to ?3 a bottle anyway. 5, have a couple of geezers on the door quickly checking tickets for home fans only, and if the place get's too full - deploy a one comes out/one goes in policy. 6, Don't fill the place with orange coated mongtards acting hard .
superjohnmcginlay Posted October 1, 2008 Posted October 1, 2008 Impressed, If they carry on what else will have to moan about
Ani Posted October 1, 2008 Posted October 1, 2008 Impressed, If they carry on what else will have to moan about People on here will find something.
tylswhite Posted October 1, 2008 Posted October 1, 2008 People need to support this now or they will bin it after a few games. People also need to realise it wont be perfect first time and maybe will need a few alterations as it goes along so dont ragging moan!
RayVon Posted October 1, 2008 Posted October 1, 2008 Smiley will be happy!! Cant wait for lager at ?1.75 a litre
no balls Posted October 1, 2008 Posted October 1, 2008 People need to support this now or they will bin it after a few games. People also need to realise it wont be perfect first time and maybe will need a few alterations as it goes along so dont ragging moan! Folk'll moan if it's a f?ck up and the standard of service is as poor as in the ground. I think, as paying customers it's our right, or the club'll never know, will they? I shall be in attendance and if that bitch who served me last week is still in a job I'll ask if she's been on a customer service course yet!
Pea-Lad Posted October 1, 2008 Posted October 1, 2008 Will be there to support it. Will try get there early to get free drink! Can't argue with that.
Traf Posted October 1, 2008 Posted October 1, 2008 If its Alibobs, Noballs, BwfcSue and Missus C then I'd put a fiver in the pint pot That's not what you said before. You said, you'd put a fiver in and take a tenner out. As for the beer: I reckon it'll be ?1.75 for a 330ml bottle: which works out at ?3.00 a pint. If it's Stella or something decent, that'll be fine. If it's just bottled Carlsberg or similar: folk'll soon get disgruntled at the prices. I hope it's a success, because many of us on here have been banging on about this for at least 2 years now: if it flops, it doesn't look good for next time we want something. Unfortunately I miss both games due to holidays, but I hope lots of you go and it goes well. Finally, if your first drink is free, you'll have folk turning up when it opens, getting a freebie and leaving. They'll then go to Subway or similar for a butty and then come back for another freebie. Nice work if you can get it.

To be honest if it is a big hall with a big screen showing the early game and a bar you can get served at it will be ahead of anywhere else by the ground. If the first drink is free it will be the only chance of Blakely White or Chief Wiggum getting the first round in Edited October 1, 2008 by Ani
Traf Posted October 1, 2008 Posted October 1, 2008 I fully agree. We've been saying so for ages. (About it working, not about how tight your mates are!)
Tyldesley White Posted October 1, 2008 Posted October 1, 2008 I also agree. People pay the ?3 in and around the ground so we can't expect them to be selling cheap beer, i'm happy to pay the going rate for a decent cold pint with decent service but as mentioned above they probably won't get it right straight away, it's a 2 game trial, they won't be sure of how many will turn up so they will proabably run out of beer, food etc so let's not moan

jayjayoghani Posted October 1, 2008 Posted October 1, 2008 (edited) whats the capacity of this place? Up to 1500. I'd say unlikely the full hall will be open though. http://www.deverevenues.co.uk/find-venue/whites.html Edit. Thats in a format with rows of seats mind. So its difficult to say without knowing the table arrangement - if there are any. Edited October 1, 2008 by jayjayoghani
Horwich Posted October 1, 2008 Posted October 1, 2008 People will moan if it goes well and then its not likely to be used again this year.
tylswhite Posted October 1, 2008 Posted October 1, 2008 People will moan if it goes well and then its not likely to be used again this year. Thats fair enough though, if it goes well it should stay.
Horwich Posted October 1, 2008 Posted October 1, 2008 It wont be open for the Liverpool game I very much doubt it will be open for the Portsmouth and Wigan games Small chance it will be open for the Chelsea game.
peebles Posted October 1, 2008 Posted October 1, 2008 Have to say this sounds pretty good. They won't have to go very far to beat Scotts that's for sure. Is it the place that's at ground level where they had Antiques Roadshow etc?
Ani Posted October 1, 2008 Posted October 1, 2008 It wont be open for the Liverpool game I very much doubt it will be open for the Portsmouth and Wigan games Small chance it will be open for the Chelsea game. thing is it may clash with other things or wont be practical for some game so the club either tries to for those games they can or just does nothing. i think which ever option they took some people would be looking for the negatives at least this way they can see peoples' reactions and deal with any teething issues. does anyone think the club trying this is not a good idea ?
Traf Posted October 1, 2008 Posted October 1, 2008 Apparently we've got our good old friends at the-wanderer to thank for this idea! http://www.the-wanderer.co.uk/boards/viewt...ghlight=fanzone
