Rembrandt Posted September 30, 2008 Posted September 30, 2008 "The Wanderers Fanzone will be held in the Premier Suite (opposite the Club Superstore) and will open from 12:00pm for the Blackburn Rovers game and from 1:00pm for the Manchester City game. There will be a giant TV screen which will broadcast the early kick off match on Sunday 18 October, as well as highlights from previous Wanderers games. A number of refreshment stalls, which will serve food and drinks, will be available with bottles of beer and cider on sale from just ?1.75." [ Official website] Could this be the first step towards a beerhall type venue for before & after Reebok games - the sort of venue I suggested some weeks ago ? We can only hope.

Whites man Posted September 30, 2008 Posted September 30, 2008 Fair play to them, I will get stuck into the ale there before the Blackburn game to show my support for the initiative.
no balls Posted September 30, 2008 Posted September 30, 2008 Fancy that! What a brilliant idea. I wonder why no one else thought of it before!

frank_spencer Posted September 30, 2008 Posted September 30, 2008 No doubt there'll be some on her who'll slag it before experiencing it. May give it a whirl. anyone know what time the unadvertised early bus is from bury?
Big E Posted September 30, 2008 Posted September 30, 2008 If it is ?1.75 a pint that will be ace. I just hope they don't fcuk it up. They need plenty of staff and multi pint pouring machines. A limited number of orange warriors would be a nice touch too. We don't want them idiots ruining it. I really hope it takes off.

[ Official website] at no point does this suggest that it will be 1.75 a pint, yet there's a fair few on here that seem to have read it this way. Admittedly, they are the usual f?ckwits who should have their computers removed, but there we go. ain't red wine brilliant
Traf Posted September 30, 2008 Posted September 30, 2008 Well I say many thanks to Rembrandt for suggesting this idea a few weeks ago! I must have imagined sitting down with the Reebok staff a couple of years ago and discusing the very same project with a few others off here. Mind you, the memory does play tricks at my age. Anyroad, ?1.75 a gallon of red wine sounds good. Or have I misread Gonk's post?
Rembrandt Posted September 30, 2008 Author Posted September 30, 2008 weeks ago, eh? give yourself a round of applause im extremely pleased theyve worked out a way of cleaning up afterwards Thanks, Cas. But they're some way off yet from a large beer-hall type venue that I was /am hoping for. Still, see how the Prem Suite goes first though.

What I actually said was : "Could this be the first step towards a beerhall type venue for before & after Reebok games - the sort of venue I suggested some weeks ago ?" I didn't claim to be the first or only one with this sort of idea.

Burndens Bogs Posted October 1, 2008 Posted October 1, 2008 (edited) Now this could seriously improve the Reebok matchday experience that we've all been moaning about for years Well done to Tony Kelly,BWFC, and whoever off here who has campaigned for this. PS - I hope Scotts bar are really pissed off, and it goes bankrupt. Edited October 1, 2008 by Burndens Bogs
Horwich Posted October 1, 2008 Posted October 1, 2008 Lets hope the club find a more permanent home. Prem suite will only be used when there is nothing else booked in there.
C86 Posted October 1, 2008 Posted October 1, 2008 All we need is the buses to set of a an hour earlier or at least some of them, not a gripe just a suggestion.
Mounts Kipper Posted October 1, 2008 Posted October 1, 2008 (edited) It is great news, as was the singing stand, I wonder where they get these great ideas from. Edited October 1, 2008 by Mounts Kipper
marple whites Posted October 1, 2008 Posted October 1, 2008 A good idea at long last !! Got to be worth a try.
