Fanzone :

"The Wanderers Fanzone will be held in the Premier Suite (opposite the Club Superstore) and will open from 12:00pm for the Blackburn Rovers game and from 1:00pm for the Manchester City game.

There will be a giant TV screen which will broadcast the early kick off match on Sunday 18 October, as well as highlights from previous Wanderers games. A number of refreshment stalls, which will serve food and drinks, will be available with bottles of beer and cider on sale from just ?1.75."

[ Official website]

Could this be the first step towards a beerhall type venue for before & after Reebok games - the sort of venue I suggested some weeks ago ?

We can only hope.

Thats someone off here that.

Going over there and trying to steal our thunder.

F?ck 'em. Let them have it.

Myself, Mounts, Happy, Casino, Bobcat, Satan and Bristol amongst others know the truth.

We sat in an exec box with the marketing people from the reebok over 2 yrs ago.

We asked for a singing area.

We asked for a standing area.

We asked for unreserved seating area if we couldn't stand.

We asked for a drinking hall in the Premier Suite.

We asked for away season tickets.

In fact, we asked for loads of things.

And got turned down for every request, but we were told our input was "invaluable!"

Great news! also if it is sh!t, at least we will get served in scotts quicker!

TK mentions decorating the place, thought the old Totty Whites flag had gone into retirement after lisbon! might give it an airing!?

I presume Michael John and his mate are 15 years old and are still perfected the art of w?nking. I think them that matter know the truth!

So somebody at the club took all the good ideas on board waited a while and now theyre bringing them out probably as their own, while somebody else on another board reckons its all down to his mate.

This really is a good idea but what worries me is what happens when it is needed for Christmas parties. What excuse will the club use for closing it down?

It was my mate who sent the original email to Tony Kelly to suggest this idea! Very impressed it's now happened!

Not exactly claiming it for his own.

These functions that are supposedley going to stop this happening some weeks, i wonder how much they are making off them? Surely if this room got done properly and it got packed for games they should make a bomb with the amount of pissheads we have!

Errr - "The club regrets that the fanzone will be closed for 2 weeks over the Xmas period, due to private functions" would be my guess.

I was about to post the same, but I considered it too obvious.

I was looking for the trick in the question!

Health & safety; someone got drunk.

Have to say this sounds pretty good.

They won't have to go very far to beat Scotts that's for sure.

Is it the place that's at ground level where they had Antiques Roadshow etc?

Yes it's on ground level facing the club shop, i was in it for beam back West Brom play off away leg a few years ago and it's a big open room, it worked fine that day

Apparently we've got our good old friends at the-wanderer to thank for this idea!

Really, says who? Don't see anyone claiming credit for it? EDIT: Apologies, I see michaeljohn's 'mate' sent an email about it.

Can't be arsed trawling through but I'm pretty sure this was discussed at length on here long before Tony Kelly became the Fan's Tzar at the Reebok.

A FREE drink will also be offered to all those fans attending the Fanzone during the first hour of opening.

But still no line of Charlie. Will they never learn?

First mention of it here I reckon..

The 8) is a link to the first discussion thread I could find!

To be fair there were probably mutterings before that

Think it was mentioned from the off many many years ago.

I still think the club is missing a trick by not catering for away fans.

Thousands of fans, many on a "day out" with little choice of places to drink in the vicinity of the ground.

The perfect clientele!
