This Sunshine is a great series. Well acted and a storyline that we can relate to, even if you don't like a bet. I love it. Apparently Peter Kay was offered the lead role but turned it down because he had too many other commitments/ better things to do. I think Kay could have pulled it off but Coogan is brilliant in the part. It reminds me of that programme years ago 'Big Deal' , the main character was called Robbie box if I remember correctly. It was my favourite programme on telly at the time ( and Sweeney of course), I couldn't wait for the next episode the following week.

 

We are spoilt with good television in this country but we don't really appreciate it unless we spend a few months abroad.

I don't actually watch a lot of telly. We only have 5 channels at our house but I'm thinking of getting that freeview next year. The government will probably be giving the freeview boxes away free of charge by then anyway. I won't make much use of the extra channels when I get it, apart from maybe watching re-runs of the Avengers with Tara and Purdy

Think it could be well on its way to winning a lot of Awards.

Back to "Toddy" and the shovel and the dog-sh?t - both me and my mum were crying, holding our stomachs watching that. Soooooo funny!

 

Craig Cash is superb - back to his stereotypical role (from Royle Family) and Ahern as the barmaid looked a bit mucky too!!

 

I've never really gambled - but by watching that programme - Christ, what a very very bad addiction it is.

 

(think it shows binmen in a bad light - which is wrong - they emptied my parent's bin this week - first time in a month - so not all of them are skiving cnts!)

It sort of lulls you into a false sense of security with all the gags and that - then it hits hard.

 

After watching Cash in several programmes, i've come to the conclusion that he always plays the same part!

 

The programme could really be based around any addiction imo, they're all grim - they tear families apart and ruin lives.

You're right, but after co-writing this superb series as well as Royle Family and Early Doors, think I'll let him off.

The only good thing about Marple is the girls at the 6th form college at lunch time which reminds me I'm off out for lunch now :p

I thought the red arrows scene where his mate is chatting that bird up and the bin van came driving up with the brushes out the window was class

I've just spent the last hour watching Episode 2 on iPlayer.

Enjoyed both episodes so far especially recognising all the joyful Marple sites

Are kid went to the primary school and all the marple mafia would have played on that football pitch
