I'm sure someone put on here once how to get away with it. My car has been clocked doing 36 in a 30 and they want the drivers details.

 

Anyone know of any loopholes?

Drive your car to some waste ground and set it on fire, then phone the police and tell them it was stolen on the day before it was clocked doing 36 in a 30, but you haven't reported it until now because you've had swine flu.

i know folk who advised me to do this, but obviously i haven't done it nor could i condone it and obviously it would be a very very naughty thing to do

i'm not saying you are wrong but is supsect the european court would have something to say about that

 

the onus is on the prosecution to prove the case

as with any motoring fine this is the place to try for info

Pretty sure there's something in the RTA which puts the onus on the owner and keeper. You cant just turn up in court and say you dont know who was driving your car.

The single most important piece of advice in dealing with a 'ticket' though is:

"Don't ignore it. Failure to respond means higher penalties, and at worst a visit from the bailiffs or a Court summons. The penalty won't go away."

Unlucky mate, I'm sure there is a 10% allowance for calibration of speedo, and Gatso, summat like that, which means you are being done for driving at 32.4 MPH, I got done at 35 in Lancaster which - the 10% equated to 31.5 MPH. C?nts the lot of 'em

The 10% tolerance is added to the speed limit, so that you won't get prosecuted for anyhting under 33 in a 30.

But they still flash if you're over the limit yet within the 10% don't they? Why don't they just set them to flash if you go over the 10%? Stupid cunts.

 

I got flashed in a works car the other day on the A1 south of Edinburgh, didn't even see the fuckin thing because I was overtaking two wagons, touch and go whether I was over 77mph. Suppose I'll find out soon enough if I wasn't. Damn this rotten country to hell.

Many years ago i heard that if you send a cheque for a penny more than the fine, you will recieve a cheque back for the penny, if you never cash the cheque they won't put the points on your licence because there are still monies outstanding, not sure how true that can be though.

I thought it was 10% plus 2 on all speed limits, i.e. in a 30 zone the cameras would be calibrated to flash cars doing 35 or more.

Has anyone ever been done on one of those average speed cameras that seem to be popping up everywhere.?

 

As everytime I am mooching through at the speed limit, someone always comes flying past as if they know something I don't?

 

The whole thing seems too ambigious to ever be tested in court, so was wondering if they just do it for effect knowing most people will reduce their speed??

They're digital and hold something like 6,000 photo's, so I'm told, then someone has to review them, I would imagine the speeders or red light jumpers will be highlighted somehow.
