Reports suggest Bolton boss Gary Megson's future will be discussed between the club's hierarchy on Monday. What course of action should the Trotters take following the defeat at fellow strugglers Wolves?

what about mixu

What did Mixu actually achieve in the SPL and what is his management style? Is it just because he used to play for us? I would have thought someone like Craig Levein or even Brian Irvine before Mixu. Anyway I'm confident with the contacts Gartside has he will find the right person.

I've been seething all weekend and thinking that he has got to go.

Now I've come round to thinking that we need to keep him if we have any chance to stay up.

I think he still has the players behind him, and the backroom staff have all been assembled by him. A new man in charge would bring too much turmoil, and would almost certainly see us down.

Having said that, I really can't take to the bloke and if we go down or just stay up, then I think a change is needed in the summer.

But then again, if we end up mid table (which I don't think we will for one minute) then jobs a good 'un again.

i always get behind the boss for the simple fact that he's part of my football club, but for the first time i will say, he has to go.

I can't wait for tomorrow! sack him Gartside ! :yahoo:

see, i'd decided it was for the best to get shut

now, i'll have to think it all through again

I hope he stays - there, I've said it.

as do i

hes a decent bloke and if he stays i'll be because results have improved

the problem will remain though that we're only ever two weeks away from another load of anti megson shite

not sure i can be bothered with it

I hope he stays - there, I've said it.

will you be protesting for his return, if/when he goes?

I worry about any change that may disrupt our team even though results are not good at the moment we have played well in some games

Oh shite, that stupid youtube fella is back.

Megson has had his time and made us worse imo, time for change, we could go down otherwise. I know it's a gamble but surely this club can't go on like this.

i hate the current situation for multiple reasons but i do still believe we are only couple of players and bit of confidence away from being a comfortable mid table team.

i THINK megson should be given januarys window to sign those players.

but im not sure he will make january?

A change now will almost certainly send us down, that's the problem

Look I want him out but please, fuck off and make video.

A change now will almost certainly send us down, that's the problem

It's a risk either way, but in my view, the less risky option is to make a change

My guess is that noone likes him, including, most importantly the players

Sorry but we need new ideas. A new manager will allow the players to start again with a clean sheet.

Yes, and thats the key for me too, has he still got the players behind him.

I think he has.

Why would getting a better manager than Megson make us more likely to be relegated?

who's to say we would get a better manager?

And what makes you think we'll get a 'better' manager?

They are his players, he knows them inside out, what makes them tick etc

I don't know any stats but I don't think they would be favourable to clubs sacking managers in December.

who's to say we would get a better manager?

jeez; how could he/she possibly be worse?

As things stand, each point or three points seem to extend his tenure by a couple of games.

New managers often bring a few good results. We need two or three wins to lift us half way up the table. half way up the table brings a bit of confidence.

For that reason, my view is that he should go; but only if there's a decent replacement.
