tyldesley_white Posted December 9, 2009 Posted December 9, 2009 worse than megson is bolton's next manager IAN DOWIE, remember those who know all about football can understand this appointment. A while back, people who know fuck all about football wanted Dowie
tylswhite Posted December 9, 2009 Posted December 9, 2009 Ive just had a text and Megson & Gartside are both on the brink of the sack. A defeat on saturday would probably seal the deal. Not the usual source but this source is much closer to the action than the usual one. Cue people hoping we lose on Saturday.
Dan.m Posted December 9, 2009 Posted December 9, 2009 Surely it's as good as done then? They can't expect us to pull out a win against City can they?

Hope we win but hope he goes

Not the usual source but this source is much closer to the action than the usual one. Cue people hoping we lose on Saturday. Even though I can't be there against City, I never want the Whites to lose. But one match ? Against a team who aren't losing ? If it's really for the greater good ? Tricky one ...... But have a faint feeling we might get a shock result given how bad we've been recently. Which goes to show that these decisions shouldn't depend on one result ....... as a businessman like ED will know.
Traf Posted December 9, 2009 Posted December 9, 2009 Strange one, this. Because a defeat to City shouldn't trigger the sack.

Big call this Tyls can see Megson going but Gartside too, interesting .You just know they will pull a result out of the bag now .
LodgeMorrWhite Posted December 9, 2009 Posted December 9, 2009 I cannot see a defeat against City being a catalyst for a change. With West Ham on Tuesday we have the first of four games we will be expected to get something out of. I think any decision would be left until after these games have been played out. To do otherwise would be a huge gamble. With Megson at the helm we are still capable of beating West Ham, Wigan, Hull and Burnley. If he is sacked will we play any better/get the results we need, who knows? I cannot see the decision on this based on what result we get against City. Unless of course it is a Gareth Southgate scenario and the board have already made their decision.
Traf Posted December 9, 2009 Posted December 9, 2009 If Megson is allowed to stay for the 4 "winnable games", it won't buy him much more time with the fans, because it has already been stated that they are games we should win. His position is therefore untenable, unless he wins another 3 or 4 afterwards.
superjohnmcginlay Posted December 9, 2009 Posted December 9, 2009 Defeat by City would leave us without a man in charge a day to sort a team out against West Ham which is a must win, cant see it meself but tyls soes usually have the say before it happens
Traf Posted December 9, 2009 Posted December 9, 2009 All eyes on the directors box then on Saturday: looking for any out-of-work managers.
onlyoneawalker Posted December 9, 2009 Posted December 9, 2009 Strange one, this. Because a defeat to City shouldn't trigger the sack. In isolation no but any defeat can be the straw that breaks the camels back....Tyls I hope you are right on this as you have been in the past and wanting them to lose is never ever acceptable.......or is it?..........tough love = white love???
Traf Posted December 9, 2009 Posted December 9, 2009 I expect us to get beat anyway, so sack him now.
HomerJay Posted December 9, 2009 Posted December 9, 2009 even after a heavy defeat on sat, megson sacked would still suprise me,but gartside too would be astonishing!! i know tyls info is usually good, but i just dont buy this.
Carlos Posted December 9, 2009 Posted December 9, 2009 I never understand why someone gets sacked after they lose to United/Liverpool/Arsenal/Chelsea after hanging on to it after losing to Blyth Spartans or someone.
M G WHITES Posted December 9, 2009 Posted December 9, 2009 Surely it's as good as done then? They can't expect us to pull out a win against City can they? They have swine flu,we will shit um
Burndens Bogs Posted December 9, 2009 Posted December 9, 2009 (edited) Megson sacked? - maybe, Gartside sacked?- no i hope not. He made mistakes appointing Sammy Lee and Megson, but i still think he has the clubs best interests at heart.......... and he's brought more good times than bad. Big_Girl_Oral_Explosion Posted December 9, 2009 Posted December 9, 2009 to me it might be too late unless the new guy has funds to spend as many of gary megsons buys are simply not good enough. however there are four winnable games following citeh in which any new manager can take advantage of the miraculous new manager effect which always undoes bwfc when we come across it. 4 good results or god forbid wins would be like pumping pure adrenalin into the team and fans boosting morale and confidence. sack him after these games if we have done badly then we could be as good as down.

no balls Posted December 9, 2009 Posted December 9, 2009 Does that mean his job at the EPL is redundant too?

tylswhite Posted December 9, 2009 Posted December 9, 2009 I never understand why someone gets sacked after they lose to United/Liverpool/Arsenal/Chelsea after hanging on to it after losing to Blyth Spartans or someone. Exactly, its other results coupled with it that decide their fate. One home win all season wont help his cause and another defeat at home to make it 5 from 8 regardless of who its against is fucking piss poor.

dirty barsteward Posted December 9, 2009 Posted December 9, 2009 Does that mean his job at the EPL is redundant too? I remember David Sheepshanks had to relinquish his position on the FA when Ipswich where relegated, Phil is also on the board of Wembley plc.
