jules_darby Posted December 10, 2009 Posted December 10, 2009 Surely not.He wanted 10s of squillions to spend. The same owner who didn't have it then, has even less now. And why would he leave a club that has a much better playing squad, with a much greater chance of being in the Premiership next year anyway?
HomerJay Posted December 10, 2009 Posted December 10, 2009 if its right and gartside goes with megson, does that make room for the appointment of big sam. just a thought? cant see gartside going unless something like this is in the pipeline more chance of me getting the job.

He aint gonna leave Blackburn, who are better team to come to a poor side with the championship on the horizon...
mickbrown Posted December 10, 2009 Posted December 10, 2009 No chance. He aint gonna leave Blackburn, who are better team to come to a poor side with the championship on the horizon... Correct - not while Mr Gartside is here. But if he goes..................... *taps nose knowingly.
banktop wanderer Posted December 10, 2009 Posted December 10, 2009 does anybody rate stuart pearce???? sven did a good job at city but i wouldn't want him here
Traf Posted December 10, 2009 Posted December 10, 2009 Pearce wouldn't give up his cushy U-21 role, he sees it as his way into the top job. Sven: yes, why not? But i don't think he'd come: he's supposedly buying Notts County.
HomerJay Posted December 10, 2009 Posted December 10, 2009 sven would be a fantastic signing, never happen.
Guest Frandsen08 Posted December 10, 2009 Posted December 10, 2009 does anybody rate stuart pearce???? sven did a good job at city but i wouldn't want him here any reason why? i'd definately take him

Piemon Posted December 10, 2009 Posted December 10, 2009 sven would be a fantastic signing, never happen. Remember this night
Take Hunt Off Posted December 10, 2009 Posted December 10, 2009 Can't believe there are people supportive of that Swedish con artist (no not Elmander) not going to happen anyway thank God, well not unless there's some decent totty down at the Reebock.
HomerJay Posted December 10, 2009 Posted December 10, 2009 (edited) Remember this night what a pair of irritating cunts. Edited December 10, 2009 by HomerJay
onlyoneawalker Posted December 10, 2009 Posted December 10, 2009 Just read blinding quote from Meggo on SSN website maybe out of context on their part etc etc but still funny.... "In order to get out of this position we need to get in better players, better than we have got and better than the ones we would replace. Invariably at this level that means spending a lot of money and we haven't got that at this club. I remember him coming out with similar comically bollox just before he got the boot from WBA and Forest - I bet PG and ED are delighted to hear this news "sorry lads i've wasted your cash on shite but give me some more" - he forgets he's spent over ?40m - net spend is bullshit doesnt matter where you get the money from ie selling players, if it's ploughed back in to transfers you are spending it on players end of story if it's going back in to the club then fair enough he really is in cloud cuckoo land...oh and there was his usual reference to Citys "Massive Following" just to inspire the home faithful
bwfcol Posted December 10, 2009 Posted December 10, 2009 Remember what Stuart Pearce did at Man City? Enough said. We couldn't afford Sven's little finger! Curbishley still the man for me (just till end of season would do). It wouldn't be unlike Man City to beat Chelsea and then lose to us, that's about the one glimmer of hope I have I think, Saturday is going to be awful.
Guest Frandsen08 Posted December 10, 2009 Posted December 10, 2009 i wouldnt really want pearce, city were absolutely shockin under him

Gaz Nt Posted December 10, 2009 Posted December 10, 2009 15th and then 14th? not great but not disasterous either He had far better players at his disposal than we have! No Thanks

onlyoneawalker Posted December 10, 2009 Posted December 10, 2009 All of 40 million, in the moden game that buys exactly what we've got, very average players, now if he had spent that on one player then ok I havent got the facts to hand but would imagine the ?40m plus he has spent is comparable with or more than: Wigan Everton Fulham Wolves Pompey Burnley Stoke West Ham Blackburn Brum (until now) Hull So his constant complaints that we're not competeing on a level playing field with all other prem clubs is in my view just rubbish - we used to be top of that tree (clubs on limited budgets) because we had a great manager....we can do it again when we get another
Casino Posted December 10, 2009 Posted December 10, 2009 how many of them have sold a world class striker and a twice african footballer of the year and the club captain from a team that even including 'em couldn't buy a point? just answer the question thanks, in advance
Traf Posted December 10, 2009 Posted December 10, 2009 How much has Megson actually spent ie the total transfer deficit?

Just to clarify my point is that we are competeing with these teams financially so managerial talent is a key if not the key differential between them season by season....thats all....
