January 9, 201016 yr Just wamted to add my own recorded welcome to Owen (already been told by 'er indoors that a child of ours won't ever be called Owen - will have to try Columba next!) I remember well him being out with the drinking lads in his era - McGinlay and Browny leading the way - in the waning days of Student Ritzy. Never missed a chance to have a quick (as quick as they made it) word with one or the others. Owen on his coca-cola's - always suspected they were laced with treble vodka's but that, as we now know, is not Owen's way. He always seemed a proper decent bloke with a rich fondness for the club ie: out talking with pissed-up-new-drinker-me on a night out, on driving duties also for his boozed up team mates. He's had to work very hard I suspect to keep us on an solid financial base with pressure from managers, players and even fans. Look around at "big" clubs beginning to crash and burn. It's his job to keep a level head, plan for all eventualities from FA Cup wins & Europe to relegation & adverse publicity. He has to try and keep gates up and costs down and ultimately manage the entire staff of BWFC. Yes he gets paid well to do it but he aint doing to bad in my opinion and whilst there may not be a "chairman of the month" award, they work just as hard every day as the managers.

Its us against the world again now and i love it. 1 or 2 signings and i think we will climb the table in no time, just looking forward to getting 100% from the players something that became very rare under GM.

Hopefully if we are beating a poor side like Hull at home we will try to stay on the front foot rather than take off a goal scorer for McCann and hand them the initiative.

Exactly - We're in a relegation fight & it will be interesting to see if OC is willing to take unpopular decisions to keep us up , or will he try to play pretty football & take us down as this season's West Brom ? Just keeping us up will be a success for OC this season ,& then it will be the time for him to start making bigger changes.
