Widnes Two Hats Posted January 9, 2010 Posted January 9, 2010 I've just been to the Coop and they've no bread left and loads of empty spaces on the shevles, this normally happens in Widnes at Christmas but I've never known it anywhere else Is anywhere else suffering or is it just the scousers with no sense?

Smiffs Posted January 9, 2010 Posted January 9, 2010 Same in our local shop. Doris went in for a loaf and the cupboards were bare. She asked John when he'd be getting some more and he brought one from round the back. He said so many folk who live nearby never give the shop a second look until this week and were coming in panic buying, meaning there was nowt for his regulars so he's resorted to hiding a few things round the back. 'Fuck 'em, they never come in usually' were his words.

leigh white Posted January 9, 2010 Posted January 9, 2010 During the great bread strike of 78, my dad got a loaf in Sunderland and got called a scab off our striking driver, who happened to work at Mellings in Farnworth.
