To be fair, I think cutting a country in half and then plonking Israel in the space you've created is going to be pretty unpopular whichever country you do it in.... I wish we spent as much time and money trying to find a solution to this problem as we do invading countries to stamp out Islamic fundamentalism (which then becomes self perpetuating). Sort out the Israeli/Palestine conundrum and we'll go a long way to stopping terrorism. If the EDL were marching to stop Islamic extremism by putting pressure on the Government to do more to find a route to peace in the Middle East, I'd be marching alongside them.

I think you have missed my point. It was that Israel was a country prior to Islam being a religion. So we've gone to talking about another country and yet, we go back to the same religion. I don't see anyone mentioning Sikhs or Hindus in the UK. I do think that speaks volumes for the ideologies of these people. The ironic thing is, some of those bints in the UAF mob are speaking up for people who think of them as lesser humans.

Frank.. sorry my friend, but there was a 3 and a half to 4 foot solid steel barrier between the police and the public at the bottom of the town hall steps, that was actually where i was for most of the protest. the UAF did not at any point push against the police standing on the town hall steps.. they couldnt as the police were some 10 ft away from... See more us at all times but earlier on before the protest got going the police DID push against members of the public on the counter-protest side, setting dogs on local residents whose clothes were ripped from their bodies. i saw this with my own two eyes and spoke afterwards, by coincidence, with the wife of one of those hurt and clothes torn by the police dogs. the EDL arrived and repeatedly threw missiles at our side of the crowd with no retaliation, the police did absolutely nothing about this until a glass vodka bottle was thrown and smashed onto someones head, and then had to be persuaded to even speak to us about this, let alone act against the person on their side that had thrown the bottle. at that point the crowd had had enough and so missles that were thrown over towards us, hitting people in the face and cutting people etc. were thrown back. after a short while of having the missiles returned the EDL stopped throwing things cause obviously they were now putting themselves in danger by their own acts. i'd like it if you could send me the link to the footage you have seen regarding the pushing into the police because i have absolutely no knowledge of such thing happening and was right at that scene so that would be interesting. i agree that the EDL have their own views and the right to air them but the communities of bolton did not want this not the council, and the council and the GMP worked to facilitate this event deciding that it would be appropriate to place both events in the same space when they could have easily had two separate events in the town on the same day in order to accomodate everyones point of view.

At the time, I went mental at it got a grip of my jeans, tearing them slightly & threatened the copper I was going to kick the dog to death. I'm not proud of that fact, but the dogs were released and the poor things didn't know who was & wasn't being the aggressors. I blame the dog handlers for not guaging the situation correctly. Looking back now though as a proper grown up, that dog was highly trained. It got a grip of my clothing, not me, and it was only me trying to pull away that ripped the jeans. So for her to say the dogs attacked them, she might look back in a few years with the view I now have.
