The pitch played a factor in a poor game generally.

Taylor was poor last night and has been a disappointment for the majority of the season. Elmander worked his socks off and IMO was one of our better performers. The defence had issues in the 1st half due to lack of communication but the 2nd half it improved and Knight did well. Ricketts is also doing OK out of position.

Weiss was very frustrating when he came on, lots of tricks but no final product, I would have had Cohen on for Taylor with Ricky out wide after 70 mins or so.

1 major problem were our full backs giving the ball away, Steinsson was particularly poor although since he claps the fans a lot I can't have a go at him according to some people!

Our lack of creativity other than LCY was very obvious, I'd consider Wilshere in for Taylor on Sunday

elmander did work hard, never stopped. but he was still very shite as was most.

only players to come out with any credit were back 5 and possibly muamba (for sheer number of tackles alone) imo.

The section of fans that jeered Taylor going off need shooting. You aren't supporting the team so fuck off.

I'm not his biggest fan at the minute but, as said above, he was the only player that looked like scoring.

Anybody know when Klasnic is back?

klasnic could make the bench on sunday

Both teams were poor. The annoying thing is that we have now played two poor teams (Fulham and Wigan) and not won one of them. When someone plays half decent against us then we are in trouble. Wasted opportunity last night.

First clean sheet away from home is a positive!

Anyway - roll on Blackburn. A win there would be sweet.

I am not a so called X factor fan and i never hounded out Hunt / Nolan. I did however hound out Megson as he was a shite manager that spent stupid money on shit players (i.e Elmander, Taylor, Robinson, Ricketts, Knight etc)

In amongst all your other bollcoks this gem stands out like a sore thumb.

Last season Taylor was our best player by a long stretch and the season before his goals/assists kept us up.

The lad is having a shocker at the moment but he is far from a shit player.

Taylors class will show in the end he is suffering a lack of confidence, but there were glimpses last night that he is on the way back, he was our only goal threat. we played well last night,i was sat in the wiggin end { freebie } 3000 whites fans were very vocal, defence looks solid in particular knight and ricketts looked class.midfield looks balanced with gardner along side fab , wigans pace could have ripped us apart but we coped well.steve davis has sorted our defence, first half we gave them to much space but the second half we took the game to them and could have won the game.

Taylor seemed to have a bit of an attitude towards the end of the Megson era and I think his performances suffered, and he since hasn't rediscovered form. However I don't think that getting on his back is the way to go. The fans that jeered Taylor (and any player in general) arn't just destroying his confidence but potential future signings could also be put off by stories from other players / managers they work with about our fans at the moment.

Not a great game last night for either side, plenty of effort at times but no real quality and we just arn't clinical enough, and at times we are just so deep which just invites wave after wave of opposition attack.

All i have seen from Taylor this season is a player who is constantly screaming at other players, he hits wayward pass after wayward pass and shouts at other bwfc players for not getting on the end of them. I would like to see him sit out the bburn and Wolves game and give Weiss a proper run out, we need to do something as we did not create anything last night.

1 goal in the last 5 league games or 0 in the last 4

Getting Klasnic back might save us otherwise where the f**k is the goal threat coming from?

in fairness to taylor (who has been utter turd), he was getting abuse from crowd last night for not passing the ball earlier.

can these people not see that no cunt wanted he ball from him, in fact most ran away.

so all he was left with was a punt upfield.

wiess is not the answer, the number of times he lost the ball and put steinsson under pressure was schoolboy stuff.

admittely he has an abundance of skill going forward, but youve gotta do the simple things right first.

That's Weiss who went 25 minutes without putting a ball in the box, and who got caught in possession over and over again because he thought dribbling up and down on a pitch worse than Newhouse Farm was a better option than passing to anyone else?

Bollocks.

Matty looks out of sorts but, as plenty have said, cheering when he gets subsitituted is just numb. When he gets hounded out we're not likely to replace him with better. He works hard and he looks more likely than most to score goals, even in the sort of form he's in.

Christ, folk are talking like he missed sitters last night - the first was a whisker wide first time from outside the box, and he did well to keep the second in the ground it was bobbling around that much.

Are we going to start calling him a bummer again soon?

nob eds the lot of them, helping nobody!

Spot on,

Ok he isnt playing great this season, but this is a guy who scored double figure goals from midfield last season and without him we would possibly have been in trouble last season let alone this (certainly up there in our top 3 players last season with cahill and davies). You could argue he does need a break from the team but to boo or cheer when hes substituted isnt on. Theres players on the pitch who have contributed a lot less and cost us more over the last two seasons than Taylor (thinks or shocking performances from full backs all over the place).

Taylor`s contribution has not been the best, even his free kicks are not hitting target. As for Elmander, agreed he ran his socks off but he doesn`t score goals which is what he`s picked for. The last third of the pitch, were clueless.

neither does davies, but he's still seen as a god.

plus at the moment i think elmander is working far harder than davies (admittedly he doesnt take the rough and tumble like skd, but who does)

Posted

From what i've seen whilst klasnic is injured, when he's fit he needs to play alongside elmander and not davies.

depends on how we intend to play to be honest. If our full backs are going to lump it forward alot cos they panic in possession of the football, often the case, i think klasnic with davies if we're going 4 4 2. If we intend to pass the ball through the middle of the pitch, including having full backs who are comfortable on the ball i have no problem with giving the elmander klasnic a try, could work

Agreed, was thinking that the other day actually. Davies and Elmo are quite similiar in the way they both play. There both grafters. Would love to see Elmo & Klasnic given a chance together but i can't see Coyle dropping the Captain.

i wish evryone would calm the fcuk down!! we've just got a point, and a clean sheet away from home against a fellow struggler on a crap pitch, not that disgracful is it?..we havnt just been leatherd 5-0 have we? do you really think chelsea or arsenal would have gone there tonight and turned in an amzing performance litterd with mazy runs and knife through butter passes? your absoloutly mad if you think so, we all know the downfalls of the squad coyle inherited but for fucks sake put things into prespective.tonight wasnt that bad,we wernt anywhere near good enough,we wernt allowed to be, but either were they..and they are above us.

picking on taylor, elmander etc? fucks sake...who would any of you put in their place? put weiss in for taylor?..on a bogland pitch in a 6 pointer local derby against a physical opposition?..him or wilshere wouldnt of lasted two fucking minutes early on tonight. and who to replace elmander? who do you put in his place? what would you think before the game if the team read davies upfront on his own at wigan away?! thats right get him out because he usless, bunch of fucking halfwits..this isnt the time nor place to start rallying against any player, manager or club,we need every bolton fan behind us to get us out of this mess,no matter how it was created,we need to stay positive.it was negativity that has infested the club since sam left and its eating away at the club from the inside.

as botlon fans together please remember the squad is the squad,we cant change it,and ive never heard a truer statemnet in...you cant polish a turd!

Agree with most of that, apart from the "polishing turds" bit which suggests our squad is inferior to other relegation candidates and we don't have the players to keep us up, I think we do.....just

But the sentiment about the rest of your comments is absolutely spot on. Yesterday wasn't as negative as some folk are having us believe. It's easy to come on here and moan about things you didn't like. Perhaps my bench mark is low, but if we can go into our home game against Portsmouth knowing a win will keep us safe I will be happy, loads of ups and downs before then. Let's keep with em and get behind them all the way

Did you see it kick off anywhere? Looked like it was gettting a bit hairy near the bridge as we were leaving. Dire game with the exception of the centre halves who I thought both played well again. Team looked tired to me which worries me for the Blackburn game. Struggling

to remember a decent move apart from when Davies put Taylor through....

Wigan fans waited til they were halfway across before taunting the bolton fans. bunch of pussies
