While I agree with the consensus that the upper tier fans are generally more affluent I suspect there may also be people like myself who sit in the upper tier with relatives etc and are not quite as affluent as the people they sit with.

 

I can probably just about afford a 10% increase this year but only because my mortgage rate is currently very good. I cannot guarantee I'll be able to afford it next year because I'm certainly not affluent. Perhaps it time to ask for a pay rise!

 

i think they'll listen to reasoned arguments, particularly if you tell them you attend with a large group. Try writing to the club and telling them you'll rethink your S/T purchase next season if there's a price hike.

Anyone know when prices are announced.

 

Wigan have announced there's and prices are between ?250 and most expensive is ?295 for an adult.

 

Even do dad and lad's for ?250 and adult/2 kids for ?300.

 

Bwfc need to consider the above.

I see Blackburns are out as well ?209 the cheapest and ?369 the dearest

anyway ?285 to ?419 for an adult, ?189 to ?199 for under 21's and ?49 for under 18's seems pretty good value to me.

 

in fact the ?49 tickets are superb as those fans are our future.

They have. If you renew online, you get a discount that keeps the price the same.

 

If you do it by any other method, you'll pay more.

I've checked the new site out bwfcseasontickets.co.uk or whatever, once again it looks like it's been designed by Spazzy Darren's less intelligent mate. If you click to buy a season ticket it tries to send you over to Ticketmaster. HOWEVER it does this with a pop-up so it won't work on the vast majority of machines as quite rightly they will have pop-up blockers.

We are 17th in the Premier League attendances table with an average of 21826 and 19TH! on ground capacity/fan ratio filling, on average, only 75.9% of the ground. Only Wigan attract less. Obviously the club didn't recognise this and have not tried to entice more fans to the ground with cheaper tickets/more offers.

 

I'le be renweing next season, as will many others, but those who are still undecided will not have been enticed with these latest prices. The club is going through a rebuilding stage and if I had any say, surely it would have made sense to make the prices cheaper, entice more fans, then gradually increase the prices season by season back up to what they want.

 

 

On a brighter note. The World Cup starts in 34 days, 9 hours and 24 minutes... not that i'm counting or anything?!

i was more than happy with the prices last year, so i cant grumble at them being the same, could be worse you could pay ?1200 for a ST and win fuck all in 5 years.

Think the club should drop there pants this season, I would sell standard ST at ?190 all around the ground and childrens (under 16's) at ?49 all around the ground. Try it for one season only, say its for the fans due to the current economic climate, if they keep match day prices the same ?20 - ?30+ then this will add a real financial incentive for fans to buy a ST in the summer and attend all games instead of 8 - 10. At the current prices there is not much difference between an adult ST in th ESL and paying as you go with a memebership discount so fans are picking and choosing the games and only attending a handful. I think at those prices we would fill the ground with 20k ST holders coming to every game and the extra atmosphere would be worth a an extra position or 2 in the league table paying off the lost ticket revenue. The increase in matchday sales i.e programmes, food, betting advertising etc would also make up for some of the initial loss.

 

If they keep prices the same many will decide to pick and choose the games and once the Tory axe has cut the north to pieces then attendances / atmosphere will be as glum if not glummer than they where this season.

When looking at pricing and attendances, have a look at Blackburn, a bit disappointed, in my opinion not much imagination gone into trying to improve our attendances.

why do folk 'look at blackburn'

 

folk don't look at the price and say 'ooooo, i'll be a rovers fan, this season' cos it's cheaper

It is a difficult balancing act for the club, but it is 5 years now without a price increase in real terms that is a big reduction, I do not think a cut would make a great difference to our support, what would make a difference is a blanket ban in the Bolton area in all pubs showing the game, we all know there are thousands in the pubs and clubs watching the games live every week.If everyone acted in this manner we would have no club to support it also makes a difference to what players we can sign, what player wantss to play in front of thousands of empty seats week in week out, if you have BWFC at heart and want the club to progress think about renewing and this will help the BWFC from becoming a Wigan and a laughing stock, Blackburn fans have shown faith, 2000 more fans on average each game this season, we should be doing our bit.

Would be down on revenue but not as bad as 30% as the extra take up of ST would off set the reduction in price and the extra matchday revenue (advertising hordings, food and drink etc) would plug the gap a little more.

 

IMO I think we need to do something drastic to sell as many ST as possible as in the current climate I think a lot will pick and choose instead of paying out for a ST in the summer. The atmosphere has dropped to VERY POOR levels recently at the reebok and a regular gate of 25k/26k would help make it better and could turn a few draws into wins = extra couple of league positions = ?1.5m in revenue. I dont think these prices would dramatically effect our turnover if at all when you take everything into consideration.

 

If we had to put them up in year 2 then maybee some of the new fans would not renew but hopefully if they get back into the routine of going the game they would get a taste for it again and stay on. A bit left field but I think our ST numbers will shrink due to 18 year olds having to pay full price, there has been alot of young lads (older than 16) that have been on a ?49 ST this season.

Although I appreciate your point, the cheap north singing stand idea didn't create any more atmosphere, or one good enough to be heard anywhere else in the ground, so I can't agree.

The reason why i mention the Rovers is because they are a similar club to us, but unlike us their attendances are going up and people are saying what a good atmosphere it is and how enjoyable it is going watching them again.
