should we have bowled?

I dont think so KP and Colly both out same kind of shot going after the ball and Trott left the gate open to be bowled.

The Boxing Day Test for me is always standing up in Barristers

Hope so, I am really looking forward to it, going to be booking a few days off work to take in some of the first and second test.

  • Melbourne tickets have arrived   :yahoo:

I've decided I'm staying up until Cook gets his hundred or is out. Whichever comes first. Although, if it's looking good I may stay up till stumps. Cook and Bell looking good. Shane Watson is a typical Aussie. How I loathe that man

I had a snooze at lunch and im debating weather to call it a day now or battle on

Just woken up to watch (exam this afternoon, but I was waking up every half hour to check the score anyway so gave in and am watching).

Score seems pretty even so far, how's it playing?

Batsmen seem to be well set and in little danger then play a loose shot (Pietersen especially, a ton was there for the taking). Not going to say anything else because I'll jinx it (if I haven't already)

Erm...

Erm...

Oh well, Bell century, Swann 70 odd off 15 balls, we make 300+ and their shower won't match that on a swinging pitch.

They went into this test as favourites and now look like frightened rabbits. Total domination from the Aussies, need to get 300 minimum. This wicket shouuld suit Swan.

Wait till both sides have batted - 260 is far from ideal, but it's more than we've scored on plenty of previous occasions, and it's far from total domination. They've dominated 1 session, now we have to dominate a session to square it up.

Just 1 wicket today would make the world of difference.

Disappointing first day for us... Would have been nice to have got a wicket before the end of the day.. Oooof Swanny is gonna get an over in! Come on England!

Day 1 to Aussie as usual, I'm going bed adios

Shite that.. Time for work..

The voice of reason. Spot on. FFS give it time.

We'll bowl them out for 220 tomorrow.

Then it'll get interesting.

That'd be a rather good show!

I reckon they'll outscore us but not by much - 280-320ish

If they scored much more than 320, the game could well be out of reach for us.

I can see them getting to 350 at the very least tonight.. Need a couple of early wickets to shit them up... If we let them get in then we're fooked :nea:

The Gabba is a fortress for them (they call it the Gabbatoir because all visiting teams get butchered). That's why they scheduled this one first.

I think we'll get in amongst em today and 'shit them up'.

No need to throw in the towel just yet. Australia is banking on a first test victory and if they don't get it, you will see the confidence drain out of em.

Wouldn't like to be facing the onrushing hordes with you at my shoulder pal. Show some backbone man.

The first Test is always there you flamin' gallah.

My spelling could have been better - should have left the 'd' off scheduled. You're a tit anyway - not 'always'.

I have lived here since the mid 80's and I can tell you that the decision to play first tests at the Gabba was taken in the late 80's. Check your facts matey.
