was on talkshite yesterday

what a refreshing 10 minutes

now, he aint on the breadline or owt, but he was asked whether (in view of the rooney shenanigans) the game was all about money now

'not for me....i've got a son and as long as he's happy, i'm happy'

not sure he answered the question asked, but he seems a decent young kid

also quizzed about the tackle on saturday, he said he thought he could get the ball and seeing mccarthy carried off really affected him

he was pleased to see him at half time stood up

i heard that. he didnt sound like i expected him too.

sounded more like a posh cockerny, than an african asylum seeker.

you certainly wouldnt believe he couldnt speak english until he was 11!

Muamba was born in Kinshasa, Zaire (now the Democratic Republic of the Congo). His father fled the country in 1994 because of his political views and arrived in England seeking asylum. In 1999 he was granted indefinite leave to remain, at which time he was joined by the rest of the family.[2] They settled in east London, where Muamba attended Kelmscott School in Walthamstow.[3] Despite having arrived in England aged 11 unable to speak English,[4] he went on to take A-levels,[5] and excelled in football at school.

Does seem a decent lad, and good to hear someone say that about the modern game.

i think hes had some unfair stick this season in terms of performances, to me hes been a bit quieter but thats due to playing along side holden who puts a shift in as well.

Heard that he was taken off early because of that tackle and how it affected him, i know hes only young and regretted the tackle but its part and parcel of the game especially for a centre mid i would of liked to have seen him carry on like nothing happened but i suppose some players do get affected.

i think we kinda know that muamba's only downside is belief in his own abilty and his confidence is easily knocked.

erm, he cant turn when he receives the ball in space. And his first touch ain't great.

dont get me wrong I like him but think he lacks more than confidence.

Muamba was fine I thought v Wigan, only downside for me was when we was completely dominating in the first 25 minutes, he had two chances to play balls in attacking areas and he misplaced them, one went out and the other went behind Petrov instead of in his stride. one would have been a great move also, because Elmander played a fantastic back heel pass right in Muamba path.

seem that lad is out for a while.

Aye, fairly innocuous challenge, too. I wasn't even convinced it was a foul at the time.

Certainly neither of the Wigan fans who booed Muamba throughout the second half so much as batted an eyelid when it happened.

Doesn't stop it hurting, obviously.

Muamba was subbed in the 86th minute. If you think that's early... well....
