Ok there is a chance Cahill could go in January according to all the rumours, so who should we bring in to replace him? I see Wheater at Boro is out of contract in the summer and we could nab him on the cheap but is he good enough? I reckon if Cahill goes to Spurs we will probably get Woodgate on loan till the end of the season. Of the clubs who could be interested in Cahill, ie Scum, Chelski, Spurs, Liverpool, City who would you like realistically as part exchange?

Maybe Coyle can convince Gerald Cid to come out of retirement, hes only 27 and has plenty of years left in him.

Taylor at Newcastle, Wheater at Boro and Woodgate would all be decent additions.

I think Spurs are nailed on to get Cahill, and Liverpool would be daft NOT to be in for him.

Wheater would be a decent addition and keep up the signing of youngish english players that's served us quite well this past couple of years.

 

Lescott would be a belting signing but i can't see it happening.

I'm hoping that OC holds on to him until the end of the season as it will bugger up our chances of a top 6-7 finish if we lose him.

Considering its a few quid the higher up the league you finish it doesn't make sense to let him go in January.

Its not as crucial postion, as say a Goalkeeper or goalscorer.

 

I think Cahill going could improve you, IF Coyle uses or is allowed to use the money correctly.

Woodgate is never fit, he's on the same list as Hargreaves for me as "never play at the top level again".

Wheater is out of contract at the end of the season, but my mates a Boro fan and doesn't rate him that highly, he recons Seb Hines who is a young lad that has just come back from an injury is a far better player.

What about Curtis Davies? He was very highly rated at West Brom, but got injured early on at Villa and never got another look in as O'Neill had his set team. Apparently he's available for a fairly reasonable price.

I'd go for Curtis Davies as well.

Think he's only about 25 as well - even though it seems like he's been around for ages!
