January 26, 201115 yr Is there a Plan B? Where do you think Bolton should be in the league table, if 10th place isn't good enough for you to not moan?
January 26, 201115 yr Where do you think Bolton should be in the league table, if 10th place isn't good enough for you to not moan? eh? so do you think he has a plan b or not?
January 26, 201115 yr Where do you think Bolton should be in the league table, if 10th place isn't good enough for you to not moan? I think bd's question is weather Coyle has a different option to hbis current tactical set up from Bd's question i dont think he is moaning about our league postion Edited January 26, 201115 yr by superjohnmcginlay
January 26, 201115 yr Give me a list of Mangers that DO know how to play more than 1 way ?? It's a good point, most just try to do Plan A better when it shows weaknesses For me that's one of the things that made Jose Mourinho such a good Manager - he had the balls and/or nous to try to change things

Bieng able to change some aspects of your game play will be down to the options you have on the bench, but you will find that managers will stick to a similar type of player, and will not buy players based on, "IF we are loosing, we can do this....". Maybe the top Managers, and I mean the top 3 or 4 in the World are the only one's that go against this. As good as Coyle is, or could be. He is no Fergy or Mourinho....but who is !?! January 26, 201115 yr but the top four all have bigger squads to choose from and nine out ten times the players they replace them with are seasoned international players who quite easily fit into plan b or even plan c
January 26, 201115 yr but the top four all have bigger squads to choose from and nine out ten times the players they replace them with are seasoned international players who quite easily fit into plan b or even plan c Then for me, you have to make do with what you have, and give the manager time. Time to develop his couching methods, not just in the first team, but the reserves and the academy. It takes time. More than ever, Clubs that dont have loads of money, Scouting and youth is more important than ever, and for this to work, you all have to be patient.
January 26, 201115 yr chelsea's midfield 3 were overunning our 2 on monday. petrov was gash. davies was getting nothing against terry. plan b for me, would have been, petrov off, m davies on, go 433, match them in the middle and stick SKD on the right against cole.

But then, Chelsea would have changed their approach. Im not sure its loosing to The Current Champions that is the problem, its the other games you have struggled lately, just like the other teams, like us etc. Its a tired old saying, but you have to 'cut your cloth accordingly' !

January 26, 201115 yr Where do you think Bolton should be in the league table, if 10th place isn't good enough for you to not moan? Can't think I've ever moaned, I'm usually philosophical. The chap next to me (name unknown) would prefer us to try to play football in 442, no matter what (in the way that Owen Coyle seems to think) I would prefer pragmatism. We gave away the ball for the 1st 3 goals on Monday and it is laudable that OC wants to offer the players the opportunity to impose thier game on the other team; trying to get them to believe in themselves. I was impressed on how we came out for the 2nd half, sleeves rolled up and tried to get at them. However, in my view, the deep-seated lack of belief is difficult to escape and the players haven't got there yet. In the meantime, why not be smart, flood midfield and slog it out for 0-0? January 26, 201115 yr Really? I thought Taylor was one of our better players on Monday... all I can recall is his set peices not beating the first man, most of his passes to no one and standing off players bouncing up and down with little effect rather than tackling given these are meant to be his strong points I thought he had a poor game sadly he was not the worst sadly as in there were more poor performances not sadly as in i wanted him to be the worst

January 26, 201115 yr if Petrov was gash, Taylor was really gash! Man of the match in evening news, must ave been watching diffract game mate he was defiantly one of our better players on Monday Edited January 26, 201115 yr by Theboybell
January 26, 201115 yr Only Taylor and Robinson came out with any respect for me on Monday night. Nothing wrong with Taylor's deliveries from open play, just no one looking like getting on the end of it.

Nothing wrong with Taylor's deliveries from open play, just no one looking like getting on the end of it. see I thought he had a mare as well mind you, I left on 75 mins so didn't see how we performed for the remainder of the game when we were 4-0 down
January 26, 201115 yr For me only 3 players came out of the game with any credit and that was Robinson, Taylor and Holden. That's where Coyle's problem is. It doesn't matter what formation he plays, if players aren't playing well, then he could try plan A, B, C or Z without success! SKD hasn't had a decent match since Tottenham, Elmander's purple patch came and went, Muamba's only attribute, tackling, has deserted him and Cahill would struggle to get in the Scotland team at the moment never mind England. Petrov cant even clear the first man from a corner and Chungy's away on international duty.
January 26, 201115 yr Is there a Plan B? Oh god another chance for ANEWMAN to have a moan and be ultra negative,he's been loving the last few weeks.
