it was something like you'd need to be paying 30% of your salary from age 20 til retirement to get a pension of 50% your final salary

 

 

i need to do something about post work income

Many will be selling there house for a lump sum and living there until they croak it, there are a number of companies offering this service, down sizing is another option, cannot see how the normal man in the street can save enough for a comfortable pension. I am out at 60 dont care how, but I definitely gonna pack it in.

Dunno what job you do, but presume that's a separate fund your putting into.

I am fairly certain it will have increased above 68 by the time our generation retire - which is depressing!

Ha ha, so less time in retirement than our parents then! I guess that is why it's worth doing the travelling thing whilst young.

 

There are also a lot of people who would argue longevity will continue to increase as well

Its 65 quid a week or summat isn't it? Same as the dole.

 

Doesn't that mean you can retire when you want without noticing a difference in income, as some of the fookers round here have retired in their 20's
