Non League Chatter

A few weeks away yet, but this could be the biggest attendance Victory Park have had for many a year with it being a title cruncher. Come on Chester beat those Leigh stealing body-snatchers.

A date for your diaries, on Saturday 4th July Atherton Collieries will play Bolton Wanderers, Neil Lennon has said he will bring a good squad down

  • I'm very fair and even handed on this one. I hate both sets of cunts.

  • Said nobody ever

It was good to meet you Ste, tell Howard I'm really sorry I didn't recognise him,

Seen the fixtures have been released. Not a bad start up that.

R, don’t apologise for not recognising him. He’s that addled, he won’t even remember the other night!😁

Yep, we both said we’ll come again when it doesn’t clash with the Wanderers. 👍

Colls are playing the Saudi outfit Al-ittihad next Wednesday 7.00pm KO at the Skuna, should be interesting.

A good game last night V Altrincham ended 2-2

Just a note on this, if you intend coming, you are most welcome, if you plan on having a drink in the bar that is fine, but, as per FA and FIFA rules alcohol is not allowed outside of the clubhouse as this is classed under their jurisdiction, in effect it is an international match, come down and get a football fix

Also, St Helens Rd is closed, Four Lane Ends is screwed, avoid!

Atherton Collieries 2 Al-Ittihad 0. Madness. Wish I’d lumped on at 14/1!

14s, fucking hell, wish id seen that

Good game at Colls last night despite the attrocious summer weather, we got stuffed 4-2, could so easily have been different, we hit the bar and post but generally couldn't finish. Warrington are 2nd favourites for the league and are a good side so we weren't disgraced, good to see a few Wanderers fans there having a break from the goings on at the Unibol. Onwards and upwards, FA cup action V Runcorn Linnets at The Skuna on Saturday.

My 1st visit to Colls last night & it was an entertaining game. I thought Warrington were quite good & deserved the win but Colls made a good game of it.

If BWFC folded, I'd probably go to the odd Colls game as the closest to  Bolton team at a reasonable level ( ahead of the likes of Chorley ) , but even though it's a really good set up,  it could never be a substitute for the Wanderers for me.

Warrington should be in the Conf North after winning the play-offs last season.

Glad you enjoyed it, you're always welcome

Caught in the headlights a bit in the first half but Warrington will be there or thereabouts come the end of the season so the second half was pretty encouraging.

Would still have preferred to have been watching Bolton last night but I've reached the stage where it will be a relief to still have the problem of fixture clashes in the future.

Radcliffes nearer to you, surely

And even though it's Bury, at least it's not some Wigan/Manc thing

From north Bolton, there's probably not much in it, but I've always known Bolton fans from Atherton/Tyldsley area & look on it as Bolton territory.......not so much with Radcliffe.

Talking with my mate last night, I realised that i've never ever been to Tyldsley or Astley. I see there's a match bus goes there, so does anyone know if there's anything there pub wise, & can you get back to town ?

Astley is little more than a village. Tyldesley has plenty of pubs but you can pretty much only get a bus to Leigh or Manchester. Atherton is a damn fine boozing town these days though.

I live in Astley, not much going on really, Bulls Head on Manchester Road is alright

Top Road in Tyldlsey is getting there now, plenty new places opening

The Hop N Hazlewood is a cracking craft ale place
