leigh white Posted December 8, 2012 Author Posted December 8, 2012 Tosser ref called the game off at half past two, saw school kids playing football on pitches on the ride to Atherton. Quote

leigh white Posted December 22, 2012 Author Posted December 22, 2012 (edited) Game off at Rochdale Town, waterlogged pitch. All 19 games in NWCL called off. Edited December 22, 2012 by leigh white Quote
Piemon Posted December 23, 2012 Posted December 23, 2012 Went to Ashtontown V Bootle on Tuesday in the quarter final of merseyside cup. The linesman was 15 yards on the field of play just so he could see the far touch line the fog was that bad. Ashton lost 1 nil but it was a refreshing change to watch a proper game of football slide challenges galore Quote
athywhite1958 Posted December 25, 2012 Posted December 25, 2012 There are a few of us going on't Colls tomorrow with pitch forks to try and get rid of any surface water, this is one game we want on. Atherton's 'Flat Cap' derby, Colls V LR, we'll shit 'um [if we play], there are a coach load of Wednesdayites coming to us after they've been to the Reebok, should be fun Quote
athywhite1958 Posted December 26, 2012 Posted December 26, 2012 Winning 2-0 after 24 minutes and the ref abandoned the game, fuck knows why as the pitch was difficult but playable, apparently if you play over 20 minutes the officials get their fees Quote

I assume he would still have got expenses if he'd abandoned earlier. Quote
athywhite1958 Posted December 27, 2012 Posted December 27, 2012 I think you pretty much answered your own question. I assume he would still have got expenses if he'd abandoned earlier. The match has to be played for a minimum of 20 minutes for officials to be able to collect their fees Quote
beer_swiller Posted December 27, 2012 Posted December 27, 2012 They were quick to take the fivers from the Atherton folk that turned up to support it. If thats the case then it`s a farce because the pitch was perfectly playable, the ball bounced no problem and never held up in surface water. Overall dissapointing. Quote

athywhite1958 Posted December 27, 2012 Posted December 27, 2012 Dave (our turnstile mon) doesn't do anybody a disservice, not one person asked for their money back, in fact a lot of the LR supporters said they weren't bothered about the money, we have discussed this within the club and the rearranged fixture will be at a reduced entrance fee (hopefully) Quote
