Open Sale

Anybody else in the same boat as me? Everybody I know with a ST is going so I will have to wait til they go on open sale on Monday. Given the chaos that ensued on the phone lines/internet when they went on sale to season ticket holders I am expecting much the same situation Monday morning and so I'm thinking of going up to t'Reebok and queueing up to get some. Good move or not?

Bolton fans in general have always supported the club, and will continue to do so, as long as its affordable, these days it often isn't.

  • As saving the planet is high on the agenda these days, and much as I hate to admit it, Red Nose himself made a valid point that the amount of travel involved in sending 3 and a half North West teams

How many away games sell out before the tickets go on open sale? In my experience over the last few years i cant remember any

Burnley last season i thought would be in demand so bought tickets the day they went open sale snd was still near the front, and tickets were on sale for another two weeks .

Imo most who go to away games aren't season ticket holders, coupled with big groups who want to sit together but couldnt get enough season tickets i reckon once they go on open sale we'll sell alot more.

we now have a smaller support than Blackburn and not much bigger than Wigan or Preston.

Do we? Historically only Utd and City have better average attendances than us in the immediate area. I can only assume you're joking about Wigan and Preston.

Why do people insist on having a go at our crowds? Contrary to what someone said earlier Bolton isn't the biggest town in the country but regardless of that, the size of the town is irrelevant when we are surrounded by six other Premier League clubs including one of the biggest in the world and one of the richest and that's without including the two Merseyside clubs.

The fact that we haven't won anything for over fifty years and yet are still capable of pulling in crowds of 20-25,000, should be something to be proud of not ashamed of.

I agree with you there. I honestly think we have more fans without season tickets than with. Bolton pubs are rammed on a Saturday even when we're playing at the Reebok, so I'm sure a lot of those will want a ticket come open sale.

How dare you, that's out favourite urban myth - I've even heard folk claim it's the town biggest in Europe, not just Britain

We're staying at The Hilton Wembley Plaza, ?52 apiece and a 5 min stagger from Wembley. I am booking the same one for the final God forbid we should make it

I'd really love us to sell out, but I understand not everyone can afford the possibility of 2 trips right now. I suspect most of those who are hedging their bets aren't doing so because they can't be arsed and are happy watching the semi in the pub, but because they simply can't afford it. Especially if they've got kids who want to go too. That said, I expect everyone on here knows a couple of people who, with a nudge, could get themselves down there. So, a collective nudge and that's another 5k tickets sold right there...

All those with SF tickets should get priority for Cup final regardless of ST status..........

Add me to the list of people pissed off with the idea we can not sell all our tickets.

It is not having a go at our fans it is having a go at all the people who claim to be Bolton fans yet are nt going.

Given the number of season ticket holders we have and the people i know who are going who normally do nt (people taking their partners, kids etc etc) I am surprised sales are not well over 25K.

I remember walking up wembley way for the villa game and a villa fan with a sign asking for tickets, and we had nt sold out.

if this was bburn, wigan, or preston not selling out people on here would be laughing.

are we likely to sell less tickets for this game than we did for the carling cup final ?

Brentford sold 25,000 for the johnstones paint trophy final on sunday

I remember Reading fans singing "you couldn't sell all your tickets" as we were walking up Wembely way.

Mind they weren't so smug after the match.

The amount of folk who've told me they're not bothering going to the semi but will do the final is crazy. Even folk who'll have very little chance of getting a ticket for the final.

*IF* we get to the final, and having 14000 ST holders and 24,500 tickets available, I would like to see an initial sale to ST Holders who have had their STs longer than X years who can get 2 tickets each, then to ST holders at 1 ticket each.

Because I think having 1 per ST is leaving 10,000 to open sale and that will cause chaos, but they can't do 2 per ST.

If the club work out "X years" so that it covers about 4000 STs, that would be 8000 from that initial sale, then another 10000 for the rest of ST, and still leaves a healthy 6000 remaining. That would reward the most loyal fans. It may preclude me, I don't know where I stand (I've had mine about 13 years I think), but it's probably the best option...

Brentford may well have sold a zillion tickets but didn't also get a 200 mile trip to do as well.

yeah its 200 mile, not half way around the world.

as has already been said its ?30 for the coach.

these 'problems' won't be a problem if we were to get to the final.

JPT FINAL v FA cup semi......

I hope you're going to have your face painted too for the occasion. :good:

They haven't even gone on open sale yet and you're already moaning about our support again. I'd have thought you would have learned your lesson after the Birmingham game.

for the record Carlisle are taking 13/14k

we should be proud to have sold more than them

What lesson ?

Did you read the bit of my post that said 'the idea' ?

Read my post again I am saying I am surprised that the numbers are nt higher than reported, I have friends who do not normally go to games who are going, members of my family who never go have bought tickets.

Back to you...................

Ani makes a fair point. If there's loads going who don't normally, and I know of a few too, then where's the "normal" support?

Spirit, you are very sensitive to criticism of our support if you don't mind me saying.

If there are any season ticket holders that have two arses then I'm happy for them to have two tickets.

Otherwise, bollocks.

Would one extra large arse count as 2 ?
