Open Sale

Anybody else in the same boat as me? Everybody I know with a ST is going so I will have to wait til they go on open sale on Monday. Given the chaos that ensued on the phone lines/internet when they went on sale to season ticket holders I am expecting much the same situation Monday morning and so I'm thinking of going up to t'Reebok and queueing up to get some. Good move or not?

stoke will sell every ticket they can lay their grubby hands on.

we will be out sung all day, and if they get the wrong result , expect several boltonians to be on the recieving end of a good kicking.

As long as I'm there I don't care. As for getting a kicking, never worried about that at any other away game so not starting now.

yer not wrong

without you wigan lads, we'd be fcuked

bury branch , always welcome...how do you feel about alan knill ?

That's rich coming from a Bury lad.

I've just been on the Oatcake and they're taking the piss saying it's going to be a home match for them.

The pubs of Bowton will probably be packed come the 17th with folk wanting tickets for the final should we get there.

I wish I didn't, but I care too

It is a bit wank

And makes it even harder to retort to the usual crowd jibes

I wish I didn't, but I care too

Same here.

i know it's not the cheapest of recreations but still, it's fucking Wembley & it's the semi final of the biggest club competition in the world.

If they sell more tickets than us it's because the semi is their only chance of seeing wembley.

We, on the other hand, have got another trip down to that there London a month later.

Edited by Werder barmen

I am waiting for the Open Sale with some concern.

Having lived in the Solihull area

(and two of my kids live in London) for more than 20 years

it has been a big effort to get to home games and I decided

a number of years ago we wouldn't get season tickets, rather

we would go to away games.

This decision was prompted by the Carling Cup experience where despite

having 4 season tickets for 10 years we didn't get a ticket until a few

days before the final when they managed to get a few extra hundred. My non

season ticket holding brother got tickets through ticket master on day one.

I had a call from the club a week before offering me two tickets and I said

I was unhappy about deciding which one on my three season holding kids couldn't go.

This season our family have bought between 2 and 5 tickets for 9 away games

and one home game (Wigan in FAC). I phoned to ask (as I was buying away tickets

for Birmingham) if this counted for anything

and the answer was no call when they went on open sale.

And many slagged off the club for making the Reebok "ONLY" a 28,000 stadium. Its bloody pathetic that the biggest town in England is looking likely to struggle to sell 25,000 tickets.

Come on you Boltonians, back the lads and get to Wembley

It's pathetic that a semi final has to be played at Wembley if you ask me. What you are not taking into consideration is the cost that many folk just cannot afford or justify these days. The FA and football is just too fucking greedy.

There's coaches less than 30 quid to Wembley. It's not much different to Birmingham. The ticket prices would be the same were it Wembley or any other ground & with tickets at ?30 that's a lot less than many premiership clubs charge for a league game.

I reckon these folk will find the money for a final, innit.

As saving the planet is high on the agenda these days, and much as I hate to admit it, Red Nose himself made a valid point that the amount of travel involved in sending 3 and a half North West teams to London plus Liverpool plus marathon runners is not good for the environment. In reality it ought to be Us and Stoke at Old Trafford and ManU/ManC at Anfield or Villa Park.

Well my FD had two free tickets that she gave away to some other bugger and she's a spurs fan. Club Wembley corporates I believe. Anyway, lifeline was a piece of piss yesterday.

It's clearly all about opinions. I wouldn't want to go to OT & I'm sure i'm not on my own there. I also don't think Anfield or Villa are big enough to accomodate the 2 Manc clubs.

you can only sell to the limits of the criteria.

open sale could be well different

Whether you want to go to OT is not really relevant to be honest NB, it would clearly be the logical place to go. It involves less travel for both BWFC and Stoke, and is plenty big enough to accomodate the fans (it's capacity is far greater than both clubs combined average attendances) - The fact that the FA have to pay for Wembley means that even if Carlisle were paired up with Darlington in an FA Cup Semi, they would also have to go down to that there London as well.

I agree about the two Manc clubs, there is only Wembley or Cardiff that is big enough to accomodate them.

Having said that, I am glad it's at Wembley, as it's a lot less distance for me to have to travel :good:

What is it with the Bolton public? Perhaps we should change the name to Bolton Apathetic

Now your assuming the 'majority' of the Bolton public support Bolton.

We have to face facts despite BWFC being one of the most exciting teams to watch over the last 20 years the draw of the big city clubs in close proximity to Bolton has had a drastic effect on our historical catchment area we now have a smaller support than Blackburn and not much bigger than Wigan or Preston.
