no balls Posted April 13, 2011 Posted April 13, 2011 People have mentioned money on here as a reason/excuse. Football's not been cheap for years. ?30 for a ticket, ?20 for a mini bus place seems to have been touted. ?10 for lunch/dinner (or less for a packed one). Doesn't sound that dear to me to watch Bolton at the New Wembley first time. Each to their own I suppose.

Butterfly Posted April 13, 2011 Posted April 13, 2011 on this board? and if not, why? Me.I don't think semi finals should be played at Wembley. When we played Aston Villa at Wembley in the semi final there would have been nothing special about playing Chelsea at Wembley a few weeks later in the final if we'd won.Same ground, same pubs, same atmosphere, different opposition. I want the FA Cup Final to be a special day for me and mine if Bolton get there. If we get to the Final me and my family should be guaranteed tickets as season ticket holders and we will be going.

And if Stoke beat us, which they very well might, you'll be gutted at missing what might be your only opportunity to see us play there.
anewman Posted April 13, 2011 Author Posted April 13, 2011 Those who can't be arsed goin like butterfly should have their entitlement for a final ticket taken away from them. Let some poor sod who's made the effort for the semi be guaranteed Wankers

Let some poor sod who's made the effort for the semi be guaranteed Wankers track them down and make them sit through the induction on that construction site you were on yesterday. they'd never miss a game again!
mark1971 Posted April 13, 2011 Posted April 13, 2011 Money is an issue for me. I have made the trip (I live in America) for matches before, League Cup Final, Playoff Final, and I go to matches whenever I'm home. Last special trip I made was for the League Cup final against Middlesbrough in Cardiff and went something like this. Wife drops me off at Logan international airport on a Friday night. Couple of ales at the airport. I take the red-eye British Airways flight from Boston to London, couple of ales on the plane. Get into London about 7am. Couple of ales at Heathrow. Flight to Manchester at 9am lands at 10am. Get my luggage and I'm in Bolton Supper Bar for a kebab at noon. Number 28 to the Black Horse in Farny, couple of ales. Walk round to mate's house, couple of ales and get chips and gravy at the chippy. Get my head shaved with a couple of stellas laughing at myself in the mirror. Off to the Moss Rose, couple of ales. Wander back to Farnworth, bed at 1am. Up at 5am. Picked up at Kearsley roundabout by a friend to take the coach from a pub in Halliwell (Andy, you on here?). Couple of stellas there. Get on the bus, more than a couple of stellas, and then get to Cardiff. Couple more stellas at a pub. Watch the match, couple of ales. Coach home, stellas, dropped off at Kearsley roundabout, walked to the black horse. Bed at 2am, up at 7am. Taxi to the airport, flight to London, then Boston. Wife picks me up, sighs, and tells me to get into the car. I can only do that once a decade, nevermind twice in two months. If we make it to the final, I'll do everything I can to get a ticket and will come over. You are right though, I just have to take my chances and hope that we win on Sunday. There is no way that I could afford two trips, financially and physically.

Let some poor sod who's made the effort for the semi be guaranteed Wankers I would say all those fans who have jumped on the bandwagon and don't go to our bread and butter games are more wankers than those who are not goin to the semi final for one reason or another.
Chadd Posted April 13, 2011 Posted April 13, 2011 I cant go, because i have Chronic pancretites. and am in constant pain. i would love to go go. even if we get to the final. i aint garanteed to go either. still waiting for my op which as been cacelled once before. i realy wish i could go. and i will be watching on tv. so, to the ones who are going have a great day and think of the unfortunat ones who cant go.
eaststandlower Posted April 13, 2011 Posted April 13, 2011 just been informed elsewhere that if you have never bought from the club before, they wont sell tickets, anyone else heard this? Yes its right, a woman who works at our place her husbands never had a season ticket because he's always used relatives season tickets when he's not been away serving queen and country so he went and queued when they went on open sale and got told he couldn't have one. Its a joke to be honest after they have gone on "open" sale.

offside Posted April 13, 2011 Posted April 13, 2011 I'm not going either, just because I do not believe semi finals should be played at Wembley, just a money making scam by the FA. It is my own personal decision I have still payed for my son and girlfriend to go. Sure when I drop em off at the Rerbok Sunday I will be gutted, but sometimes you have to make a stand, even if I'm a lone voice !
