we were fucking awful today, if you pack in supporting cos we are only top 10 in premiership and just played in an fa cup semi final (ok mayeb played is generous) you would have packed in tears ago.

2nd goal a mishit...but OCs descion to play 1 midfielder, 3 centre forwards and 2 wingers meant thy won every loose ball all day........OC has to take some blame for today.

3rd goal...petrov lost the ball and gave up, i thought steinsson was a t fault jones came from behind him

4th goal...ball given away cheaply, no real challenge

5th goal....on way out of ground by then.

Nail on the head.Some of us have been worried Bolton's season was over when Stuart Holden got crocked at OT.Elmander wimped out of everything he could get out of the way of today and left a gaping hole in the midfield that Holden would have been dominating.

 

Man City's midfield will be everything that Bolton's wasn't in the final.Good luck

Elmander is equally cowardly as a striker, he'd have gone hiding against Huth but it would have been a better midfield with Mark Davies.Not good enough to win the match though , I think Bolton had to play 5 across midfield to do that with the pacy Ricardo Gardner one of them.

Coyle's an inflexible 4/4/2 man. I can't recall him changing formation / selections to cope with the opposition. I think against a team no better than us (on paper) he was right to let them worry about us. We should have exploited the big pitch and used the wide men but got nothing but long balls up to Davies, and that lifeless, gutless performance.

 

Gardner wouldn't have made any difference - though might have played with more passion/fight. I really don't see the point in recalling him from Preston if he's not even getting a place on the bench.

You have answered all my points for me. but can you remember a more gutless and cowardly display in a big match cos I cant, if your happy to settle for 10th in what is a very poor premiership this season, remember the other 10 are still fighing relegation, and getting our arses kicked in the clubs biggest game since 1958 then I question your sanity.
