Jussi, Bogdan + 5 million   or   Al Habsi, Jussi + Bogdan   Easiest fucking decision OC will ever have to make in his managerial career.

I'd be surprised if he was happy to sit on the bench.

Do we think that Bogdan can make it at prem level? Its a big gamble.

For me next season I would have Ali as number 1, Jussi as number 2 and let Bogdan go out on loan to a league side to get a year under his belt then have a look at him.

This would me my preferred option. This way OC gets to see first hand which is his best keeper (if he doesn't already know) and Bogdan gets a full season which is what he now needs!

Sounds like the best scenario to me too. Trouble is, I just can't see Jussi settling for being second choice.

Maybe but OC has to do what is best for BWFC not Jussi.

There is also a chance that this competition may bring the best out of him!

fine, if he doesn't like a bit of competition then he slaps in a transfer request

I absolutely agree.

I guess this summer we'll get to see how big OC's balls are (so to speak).

Al Habsi has been speaking with Arsenal but would prefer to stay at Bolton having just bought a reasonably new gaff and his children being settled at Bolton school.

If he stays he will be number 1 as he wants to play 1st team, if he's sold, Arsenal is the most likely destination.

Jussi has had a poor season IMO , ok that is compared to his excellent years however I think Al Habsi is now the better keeper & based purely on football & not finances he should be our No1 next season.

Finances will dictate however that Al Habsi is sold as Jussi has no desire to leave & is under contract

its not ctitical but Jussi needs some pressure on his place next year , I just hope Bogdan is capable

of doing that.

We also should'nt sell Habsi too cheap but I fear we will.

The decision will be purely financial.

I don't think there's much between the two keepers: neither are outstanding.

he's had his good moments this season but I think it's been noticeable that Jussi is not performing like he was say 4/5 years ago, still good, just not as good

for me, I think it's better long term for us to make Al Habsi #1 next season

if it turns out to be the wrong choice for some reason, we still have Jussi as a more than adequate back up till the season is out

Saying "keep them both and who cares about one being unhappy" is great if you're playing Championship Manager. In real life, the happiness of the players and the atmosphere within the squad (especially regarding senior players) is important. One of the reasons Megson got sod-all out of the players was how they reacted to how he treated them and lack of game time - as has been said by a number of people at the club. We don't want players being alienated, I'd rather see a decent player go than start that up again.

sell Jussi then

Al Habsi has already said he's not going to sit on a bench next season

Is he picking the team these days?

Is he picking the team these days?

no, but he's got one year left on his contract I think so somehow I doubt he'll left to sit on the bench and leave on a free

Jussi to Arsenal?

I think Jussi would want to stay local, family settled etc. Jussi himself knows sooner or later that we will need another number 1 so I cannot see him seeing his arse.

... so I cannot see him seeing his arse.

If he dropped to his knees and bent down, he probably could.

Any chance we could flog Jussi and Cahill to Arsenal for ?25 mil?

Wenger wouldn't pay ?25m if you offered him Messi and C Ronaldo, the tight paedo-a-like.

I will be even more suprised if he sits on it at all.

Will he kneel instead?

Have people seen enough of Al-Habsi to form an opinion? When I have seen him for Wigan he seems to go constantly from spectacular to flapper (a bit of a Gomez). Maybe jussi isn't as bad as being made out.

Was more than impressed with what I saw of him under megson when he was called upon

From what I've read and seen. He seems to be a highlight in a shit Wigan defence, the odd flap when you're playing behind the caldwells is to be expected

well if we keep the likes of jaaskelaainen etc, then I won't be renewing.

we need a massive clear out and he has to go simple as and get al habsi, orrrrrrr if brum go down go for ben foster

OK I'll bite who shouldn't we be keeping

You'll be waiting a long time for a sensible answer from that poster.
