Seen a load lately being erected round Leigh & district, our local residential estate commitee have asked the borough council about homes round this area having them. No chance came the reply, no crime in your area, so no need. It makes you wonder when all the thieving scrotes start sussing out this easy area.

Sorry about that NB, i think only a third on this board would have known the word " Ginnel". The smaller ones between terraced houses leading to the "Ginnel" was known has "Wints"

I'm not from Bolton but know what a ginnel is

As far as I was led to believe, a 'wint' was like a ginnel but shorter?

 

Then again I have no idea regarding Imperial to metric ginnel size conversions and less idea about standard ginnel/wint sizes. Is there a minimum and maximum like football pitches so long as they aren't square? What shape should the corner flags be if any were allowed at European Championship level?
