Gubbins rang me up this morning from a pub in Lancaster, i told him about Zozzies win on the gee gees. The phone went silent for a full minute. So i had to blurt out the truth. Anyway champagne flutes out in a backwater beer garden in Wiggin near a bus station on Saturday.:D

Ive been inundated with texts congrats :)

its been great catching up with old friends <img src='http://www.wanderersways.com/forum/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':::lol:::' />

I played in a poker tourney in Manchester on tuesday ?50 entry fee 102 players, and shared 2nd place for ?1K each.

The first couple of texts I got I thought 'how did they find out about this ?"

When are you coming to finish my carpet off?

I knew this poker would turn you into a big-time Charlie and you'd forget the rest of us on the way up.

Gutted of Breightmet. x

Sorry I haven't replied earlier I have been on holiday for a few days (booked and paid for it months ago of course)

welcome back zozzy.

is your lad still over our way, the offer of a lift over if he ever wants one is still there.

Ian

Thanks for the offer Ani but he passed his driving test three weeks ago. I have just bought him his first car post-26-0-42106100-1318436133_thumb.gif (just before this other carpet fitter bloke won in the bookies of course)

thanks for the nice positive comments on here about me I feel like I have come back from the dead :)

I can't really say I am a carpet fitter these days as I have only fitted about half a dozen carpets in the last few months, one of them today :good: I suppose I am semi-retired :D

Happy, you cheeky fecker I don't look 60 at all, - But the big 'five 0' is creeping up on me post-26-0-00077600-1318436457_thumb.gif

Anyway I have to dash we are having a New Kitchen fitted (they started it a week before the lucky carpet bloke won his wonga of course)

Well done fella

Its a lottery rollover tonight pal, if you buy 300,000 tickets your chances of winning the ?10m jackpot will go down from 14000000/1 to about 50/1! Its free money! You have got to speculate to accumulate as you well know.

Wouldn't the odds just go down to 13,700000/1 ? :pardon:

Traf or Bolty should know.

Surely not, if you bought half the combinations (7,000,000 tickets out of 14,000,000 combinations) then you would have a 50/50 chance of winning not 7,000,000/1 chance.

So if you buy 300,000 of the combinations out of 14,000,000 it would roughly be a 50/1 shot. Worth every penny.

A 46/1 shot, but ask yourself the following questions.

Would you back a horse at 50/1 and put 300k on it?

If you won the jackpot, what's to say you'd win it alone.
