victor meldrew Posted December 8, 2011 Posted December 8, 2011 watching super sunday from start to finish is very boring if it's not your team.
Alf Hartigan Posted December 9, 2011 Posted December 9, 2011 I thought we were the 'be all and end all' at the time, with the whole country watching us. But did any of us watch Reading smash our record a few years later? Thought not.
Alf Hartigan Posted December 9, 2011 Posted December 9, 2011 Fucking great clips though, enjoyed watching 'em
onlyoneawalker Posted December 9, 2011 Posted December 9, 2011 happy days and I wish we could keep the ball as well nowadays. I actually missed that last game at Burnden having spent most of my youth on the Paddock it still haunts me today that I missed it.
emus wig Posted December 9, 2011 Posted December 9, 2011 First and only time i have seen a tear in my old mans eye.So many fantastic memories there .It was a very special place.
Elvis Posted December 9, 2011 Posted December 9, 2011 Great day. We actually sponsored the match. Who was the streaker?
Walkden26 Posted December 9, 2011 Posted December 9, 2011 What an amazing night. So fitting Super John stuck the last 2 in on that ground. I miss the place.

HomerJay Posted December 9, 2011 Posted December 9, 2011 i never realised allardyce was in the studio at the last game
Sweep Posted December 9, 2011 Posted December 9, 2011 Bugger, I'm annoyed to hear that "You'll Never Walk Alone" is being sang (21:00 onwards on the first clip)
Bobcat Posted December 9, 2011 Posted December 9, 2011 went with my dad and stood on the embankment quite fitting really as he took me on their at my first match against spurs in 1979....it was however the away end in those days and when questioned he replied with ..."well its where my dad always took me"...Jesus he was bloody senile back then!
Sweep Posted December 9, 2011 Posted December 9, 2011 I'd also forgotten the mildy amusing attempts of Bobby Robson and Nat Lofthouse trying to squeeze the centre spot into a carrier bag -
M G WHITES Posted December 9, 2011 Posted December 9, 2011 Was the only time in 20 years i stood on Embankment
Guest bwfcdan Posted December 9, 2011 Posted December 9, 2011 Front of the Manny road terrace. Only a young kid but still remember a lot from that night!!
SatanGreavsie Posted December 9, 2011 Posted December 9, 2011 Two main memories from that day - 1) the match and the event itself 2) the fact that on the morning of the game the IRA issued bomb warnings on all motorways. Thus at 9 in the morning I'm thinking how the hell am I going to get up to it from th'East Midlands as all the main roads were shut. Train came to the rescue, but some London Whites were unlucky enough to try the drive and ended up watching the game in a boozer in Worksop, poor sods
Mike Hunt Posted December 9, 2011 Posted December 9, 2011 Casino having a go at Kevin Lynch, the ref, in the tunnel after the game
Walkden26 Posted December 9, 2011 Posted December 9, 2011 My favourite season ever. We were amazing that year - can't go back.
MickyD Posted December 9, 2011 Posted December 9, 2011 I wouldn't mind ending this current season with only 50% of the last Burnden season.
jazza Posted December 9, 2011 Posted December 9, 2011 I have watched the pre-match stuff and have had more than a few tears in my eye... what a gentleman Sir Nat was. I spent many of my happiest days there and miss it a lot. I must be getting old, K feel myself wanting to say what my seniors used to say to me when growing up. Time goes on... but contrary to the song... Things don't always get better
Walkden26 Posted December 9, 2011 Posted December 9, 2011 23:20 on the first clip, Interviwer: How do you think Bolton will do next season in the Premier League> Fan: 4 or 5 signings and they can win it. Ha ha ha ha ha what a clown!!!!!
