I have a pasty barm every weekday from Armstrongs on Morris Green Lane.

Awesome stuff and a great hangover cure. Can lead to shambolic scenes if you ask for one outside of Bolton though, tried in Chorley and Bury and they're clueless.

Barm is acceptable, even if a Manc term, because there is no other foodstuff called barm/barmcake (although I prefer flourcake). It's when mongalongs use terms like muffin or teacake that gets my goat.

 

I don't give a sh*t if "...that's what we call it in Dingleville". If I had a chippy I'd keep the aforementioned sweet treats in stock, just in case some numpty asked for a 'chip muffin' or 'fish on a teacake'...
