See, that doesn't make sense. You're normally quite eloquent in your posts.

Does anyone defend public sector workers other than other public sector workers?

that could pay for a ST :drinks:

My mother in law has stolen my mojo. When is it acceptable to tell her to go home without being rude? I'm really behind in my Killing box set, on the other hand, I'm dead up to date with Eastenders.

On the strike thing, too busy trying to keep my own families head above water to care in all honesty.

I'm going to stick my neck out here and say no.

The placard holders outside Chorley Hospital will get my usual wave if they're out tomorrow morning. Though it may well be raining, so we'll see.

She sounds ace. Your posts have created a mental picture for us all. :D Does your wife like her?

Text from my wife at lunchtime;

'hopefully baby will come today, my mum is doing my fucking head in.'

And this is on her birthday.

For a mental picture google Baby Jane.

Ha Ha! I thought you'd say that. See, doesn't it make you feel better that it's not just you.

My mum's ace, gets on my nerves like, but when I said I was leaving my husband, first thing she said was "you're not moving in with me, we'll kill each other". It's all about awareness and arms length. :D

Aye that's the one. I'm just staying silent, knowing she's irritating the piss out of us both. Trouble is, if she fucks off and baby starts to come we've got no one to come round at the drop of a hat.

It'd be nice if she offered to cook tea though after I basically looked after two kids and a nana looking lump on the sofa all bank holiday with a very pregnant wife not able to do a great deal.

Came home last night mrs cooked tea for us all, tonight she was too knackered, it was her birthday, came home after another meeting and she made herself soup when she realise there was nothing else coming!

And if she starts reading another shitting Beaton pile of horse shit book again and ignoring the kids I might have to grind my teeth with increasing noise. Yes, I've been pushed that far.

Only one thing you can do

Unzip that fly and make the offer kiddo.

She'll be gone by breakfast, and if not, she might be grateful enough to make yours for you.

Win win.

Sorry, me and my manners...

HBAHT?

Nobody outside Chorley hospital.

Fairweather communists!

I don't think the health workers are striking? My understanding was that a load of police and civil servants were getting the day off. Personally I can see were they're coming from. The bad news is the country's no money and marching isn't gonna change that.

Well im having a strike day in manchester. Hope you all have a great day at work x

None of the cunts on site here are striking. That's a shame I wanted to really let them know my feelings of them just like I did last year .... by shaking my head and refusing to take a leaflet off them.

Just heard Mark Serwotka from PCS. He doesn?t half talk some shite. Then again if nobody listened to him he might lose his ?89k salary, ?30k pension payment per year and annual housing allowance towards his 6 bedroom house. He?s definately figured out how to work the unions!

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-13932304

Why has the strike been called?

Unions are protesting against changes proposed by the government to public sector pensions. These would result in workers having to:

  • pay more into their pension
  • work for longer
  • and accept a pension based on a "career average" salary, rather than the current final salary arrangement which many of them are currently on

any public workers disagree with these reasons?

any non public workers agree with these reasons?

funnily enough, i dont actually blame the workers, people are selfish, i get that.

its the unions that take the piss. they just push the nth degree.

i guess thats the sorry state of anything these days.

Folk want them to pay more in, do more work and accept less dosh at the end of it.

Hardly surprising they are going to have a winge about it is it?

theres whinging and theres holding the country (general public) to ransom
