Traf Posted May 24, 2012 Posted May 24, 2012 When Okocha came back from the African Nations with his new mini afro look hairdo, he got some form back and played very well in thaat period, he and Vaz Te impressed together in the same team. it was all down to the 'fro. Quote
no balls Posted May 24, 2012 Posted May 24, 2012 it was all down to the 'fro. Torres got his form back when he went back to having blonde streaks. Quote
Rembrandt Posted May 24, 2012 Posted May 24, 2012 I thought Gudni was equally critical, but in a much more understated way. Quote
MalcolmW Posted May 24, 2012 Posted May 24, 2012 In fairness, Okocha's talent was wasted by Allardyce. Turned him into a no-frills chucking machine. Very sad. Whereas before he was seen as a wasted talent and not a team player. Incidentally on the age thing. He started in the third tier of the German league system. He may not have been 17, but he certainly wasn't 27. My understanding is that he was about 4 years older than claimed - and that when this came to light it was a material factor in not retaining him (but I could be wrong). Quote
enzo gambaro Posted May 24, 2012 Posted May 24, 2012 Apart from the fact Faye is still playing, and performing very well in the division we'll be playing next season. Really? He only started 25 out of 46 last season, he'll turn 35 next season, and he isn't going to 'do a job' in midfield anymore. It would be a ridiculous signing. Quote
Pablo Posted May 24, 2012 Posted May 24, 2012 ?It was a sad season for Bolton but it was bound to happen. ?When you don?t spend or invest in the future, you can't always get away with it. Nail on the head. The clubs who stay in the Premier League long term all spend money. Really !?! Quote
Rembrandt Posted May 24, 2012 Posted May 24, 2012 Really !?! I take it you spotted the flaw, Pablo. Quote
LodgeMorrWhite Posted May 25, 2012 Posted May 25, 2012 I cant fault the sentiment in what JJ says but if only it really was that simple! Four consecutive top eight finishes, and two European adventures, I dont think that will ever be bettered by BWFC. Quote
DazBob Posted May 25, 2012 Posted May 25, 2012 Really? He only started 25 out of 46 last season, he'll turn 35 next season, and he isn't going to 'do a job' in midfield anymore. It would be a ridiculous signing. The majority of West Ham fans are sorry to see him go - usually a good indication of how a player has performed. Whether or not you agree with if he'd be a good signing, it certainly wouldn't be "ridiculous". Quote
wanderer13 Posted May 25, 2012 Posted May 25, 2012 Putting transfer budgets aside the fact still remains that coyle can't manage the players he has at his disposal. This "drop a league to rebuild" spiel is just defeatist bullshit Is it easier to rebuild with less money, less pull and less fans??? Quote

Youri McAnespie Posted May 27, 2012 Posted May 27, 2012 A last word on Jay-Jay's age, this is a teammate of his - they won the gold medal at the Atlanta Olympics. Sunday Oliseh is 37 years old... Fucking stressful paper-rounds in downtown Lagos... Quote
