This Record Loss That City Have Posted

How long until the football world implodes and cannot cope with these stupid losses. its getting ridicilous.

As soon as the Arab owner gets bored or gets the chance to buy in somewhere else.

When the backing leaves City, it'll make Portsmouth's situation seem like an unpaid water bill.

They'll be massive by then.

Its not really a loss as he is bankrolling them, however it shows as a loss due to accounting purposes. If the sheikh was to give the club say 400 million they would get taxed on it so its done as an interest free loan to cover the loss

at least thats how i understand it

Until there is a system that equalises the advantage that the big spenders have the premier league will continue to be a non competition, the yanks have the draft system, we should have a handicap system, that would mean everyone has a fair chance of glory.

Dont forget about merging the teams and franchising the premiership status to those who can generate the most income

The Yanks are isolated in a world of their own. The draft system (whereby the bottom team has first pick of the year's college output, and so on) suits their purpose, although it doesn't benefit the players.

City are simply making hay before Platini's financial fair play rules take effect. The big teams will continue to benefit, but even they will have limits. Now that the top 4 places being competed for by at least 6 clubs, no-one can be absolutely sure of a Champions' League place, which will also create its own difficulties for them.

Only one team from Manchester, one from Liverpool, one from Brum and maybe two (max) from London ?

The idea could grow on me ................

Sadly, I feel it'd mean we'll not see any more kids in white tops, just more Sky Blue/Red striped ones. :(

Millions of Euros from some Arabs couldn't buy PSG the title this season in France, there's hope for football yet.

Any handicap system would have to include the whole of europe or else players would just go to spain or germany or whichever league pays the most.

It's fuck already. Watch how much QPR throw at it next year.

City's losses are theoretical in a way since the man who owns the Club owns the debt.

It would have to include the whole world, otherwise player really would be fucking off in their masses to China, Qatar and other wealthy places. The players will 9 times out of 10 follow the money.

City didnt win the title immediately post Abu-Dhabi either.

Unfortunately PSG winning Ligue 1 is inevitable

Some posh southern knob - and he really is a knob - taking advantage of dress down Friday in our office to wear a City top. Sickening.

Not sure about this.

I think if you're a kid from Bolton, you either support Bolton or you simply follow someone else. Any kid who will now turn into a City fan would've only turned into a United fan anyway so it makes no difference to us.

You either support 'your' team or you don't - that's how I've always seen it,

Not sure about this.

Which is what I said.

I thought you were saying there'd be less kids supporting Bolton?

I really hope some big club goes tits up and completely folds, never to be seen again. Its the only way people at the top end of the game will really get to grips with the rich owners pumping millions into players/agents pockets.

(Starts praying - please let it be DMB and Liverpool)

Where does it follow that a handicap system will lead to lower wages? And why would players go to China or Qatar rather than take honours in Europe?

Ask Anelka and Drogba.

Not sure about this.

Won't happen. DMBs and liverpool are Bulletproof. If they get in any bother someone will bail them out.

There haven't been that many football clubs liquidated, most that have reformed and started again anyway.

No, sorry. I meant I doubt it'll increase the amount of kids supporting Bolton, sadly. They'd just carry on supporting a Manchester/Successful club

So to summarize this season:

League and F A Cup won by Arab billionaires,

Champions league won by Russian billionaire,

Carling cup won by American billionaires.

Millions are no longer enough

Correct, even "low billions" may not be enough these days......which is just ridiculous
