Who's Our Best Ever 'bargain' Signing ?

Featured Replies

great names and were far better players before coming to us - far from being best bargins though. jussi for me. bought for next to nothing and got year after year of quality service.

Good point.

Got to see in glimpses why they was in the world class bracket, but not consistent enough.

Has to be SKD then.

Super John McGinlay or the very under-rated Chris Fairclough

Sasa Curcic for me brilliant player for us, scored some great goals to. Made a good profit, and flopped every where else he played.

The rest of the team couldn't react quickly enough to him though. No point having a brilliant footballing brain on the pitch if the other 9 outfield players didn't have a clue where to make a run to collect the ball.

scott sellars had that issue.

he was streets ahead of anyone else on the pitch most of the time.

so the odd bad pass was because he team mates were half asleep.

SKD if a good shout

That night at Chelsea when he scored that classic goal, what a joy to be there that night and he started the run close to where the Bolton faithful were gathered.

Classic goal, loved him cos we were shit in them days and going to school in bury with them tosses on the up gave me some glee

Fabian De Freitas if you weigh up his fee against the amount of money we bagged for getting into the Prem.

We've had some bargains when you consider it thats for sure. But in the same vein as your choice I'd have to go for Keith Brannigan. If not for that penalty save in the Play-off final against Reading we may not have gone on to ever play in the Premier League. He was the best keeper we'd had in ages and if I remember correctly was signed on a free.

Braaten - totally underrated, In seriousness Gudni, ?70,000 ? 10 years? and a good bloke, Per Frandsen is a good shout, but for cheap as chips Ian Marshall.

Henry Mowbray.

Kevin Davies for me and he hasn't even finished yet!

he hasn't even finished yet!

debatable

debatable

In a slower league with less able defenders reckon he will be back to something like the KD we know. Well that's what I hope anyway.

Frankie for me, Golden boot winner, slaughtered the DMBs Home and away at his peak Dids would have wanked himself stupid.

SKD Gudni & Jussi are good shouts but Jason McAteer cost 500 quid and inspired the team to promotion from Div 3 - despite last seasons agony we havent really looked back since.
