On the last tour of Scotland didn't some bloke get a taxi back from there to Bolton then jump over a fence and do a legger? Vague memories of reading it in the BEN and laughing

And move out as soon as they can.

Quiz question - serious brownie points to anybody who gets this.

Which 2 current managers made their playing debuts for us in that Scottish tour of '95 - one of which was his only appearance - & which game did it happen at?

The story goes we wanted to do a tour of the US but no one wanted to play a championship team, so we had to organise Scotland instead

it was PH (rip) from off Willows Lane who did the runner. i think the fare was £600 or something daft like that. the police arrested him a few days later and he was taken up back up to Perth to face the charge. got a whopping fine and had to pay compensation to the cab driver. he'd actually been arrested at the game and his pic was on file, hence the local gendarmes showed the mugshots of Bolton fans arested, and he was promptly collared.

good lad though, shame to die so young

paateleinen for one?

Correct - made his debut at Ross county with the other current manager.
