Youri McAnespie Posted November 22, 2012 Author Posted November 22, 2012 Dirk. Diggler? If you do change it, don't open a Tattoo Studio - or if you do, don't name it after yourself, it could end up in a costly disaster Quote
Youri McAnespie Posted November 22, 2012 Author Posted November 22, 2012 Right, are there ANY decent shops? Foot Asylum isn't bad (last time I went in was around the time of Nat's funeral tho') Erm... Is Sweetens still going? They should re-open this - complete with puppies in the window (or is that a false memory?) Quote
little whitt Posted November 22, 2012 Posted November 22, 2012 Believe its free parking in the town centre after a certain time each day now to encourage Christmas shoppers. All they need now is some decent shops and its game on! AND SAT SUN TWO till some time in jan Quote
no balls Posted November 22, 2012 Posted November 22, 2012 Foot Asylum isn't bad (last time I went in was around the time of Nat's funeral tho') There's one on the Middlebrook now. Boring fact, a mate of mine works at Head Office. Quote
Whites man Posted November 22, 2012 Posted November 22, 2012 Foot Asylum isn't bad (last time I went in was around the time of Nat's funeral tho') Where in town was Mitton's? Quote

bolton va va Posted November 22, 2012 Posted November 22, 2012 Where in town was Mitton's? Just behind The Griffin. They used to have budgies going cheep. Quote
enzo gambaro Posted November 22, 2012 Posted November 22, 2012 (edited) Where in town was Mitton's? Back of Newport Street up near where that ace bridge is now. EDIT: They used to have a mynah bird that had me mesmerised when I was little. Edited November 22, 2012 by enzo gambaro Quote
no balls Posted November 22, 2012 Posted November 22, 2012 Back of Newport Street up near where that ace bridge is now. Is Campcraft up that way still? I'm not after a brownie outfit or anything, just wondering. Quote
enzo gambaro Posted November 22, 2012 Posted November 22, 2012 Is Campcraft up that way still? I'm not after a brownie outfit or anything, just wondering. Aye, though they're forever having sales that suggest it'll go the same way as everything else on that street soon enough. Quote
Andydee Posted November 22, 2012 Posted November 22, 2012 Is Campcraft up that way still? I'm not after a brownie outfit or anything, just wondering. You're thinking of going camping aren't you??! Quote
Traf Posted November 22, 2012 Posted November 22, 2012 You're thinking of going camping aren't you??! With Casino. Quote
Traf Posted November 22, 2012 Posted November 22, 2012 Also, the phrase 'after a given time' included as a caveat. It wouldn't surprise me if this was a ruse to get folk ticketed...Lure people with 'free' parking, then slap a load of conditions into the mix... Free from 10pm to 7am knowing Bolton Concil. Quote
Con Posted November 22, 2012 Posted November 22, 2012 Aye, though they're forever having sales that suggest it'll go the same way as everything else on that street soon enough. Be a shame if it does, has a good selection of quality outdoor gear in there. Quote
overseas Posted November 22, 2012 Posted November 22, 2012 Where in town was Mitton's? the minah bird, it was called Smokey. I remember the sign on the cage that said " hi my name is smokey and i bite hard ". thanks for that photo, it has taken me back to the late 70`s / early 80`s there. memories. those were better times. Carlos Posted November 22, 2012 Posted November 22, 2012 I thought Mitton's was on the street behind Newport St, round the corner from the Griff? Quote
Youri McAnespie Posted November 22, 2012 Author Posted November 22, 2012 The one in the photo was, I think the kid's skatepark is there now. They moved briefly to the shop that's a Barbers now, I think, on Newport Street proper - opposite the old stationery shop. The Post Office was on the corner then too. Quote
miamiwhite Posted November 23, 2012 Posted November 23, 2012 £1.5million being spent on a new A&E ward at Townleys. The Bolton fightback is gathering momentum. Quote
miamiwhite Posted November 23, 2012 Posted November 23, 2012 It's a muslims only A&E. that'll be fucking busy then Quote
