August 4, 201213 yr You said we weren't taking advantage of being at home I said wait until the nearer the end I did say that when we weren't, though I think talent in these sports will overcome home support, it obviously helps though. I ain't a clue if we've won so many gold because of it being at home.
August 4, 201213 yr I did say that when we weren't, though I think talent in these sports will overcome home support, it obviously helps though. I ain't a clue if we've won so many gold because of it being at home. When the British athletes have been interviewed after, almost all have said it did.
August 4, 201213 yr Portugal haven't won a single medal I think. Population on 5m with 5m+ expats around. Team GB went there to train, they have the facilities, the climate, healthier lifestyles and diets. We've got loads of golds and loads of burger scoffing obese fat kids. Bit like the US.
August 4, 201213 yr now boxing fcuk me, its relentless Our boxers are quietly and effciently, winning, and getting some cracking biased results from judges as well. Home advantage really counts here and we should be landing a shedload of medals.

August 4, 201213 yr agogo and the super heavyweight bloke were lucky I do hope his first name is Einstein.
August 4, 201213 yr then maybe you shouldn't have been negative in your earlier post If I could turn back time, I'd change it just for you, when I typed that post GBR weren't doing well, they are now, I didn't say they wouldn't, maybe to be fair, even things out and to make you happy I should have mentioned that home support seems to be working now, but I have no idea if we're doing well because it's in Britian, because we did well at Beijing and you'd hope we could have used home support in other areas like the swimming and gym.
August 4, 201213 yr When she was interviewed I'd never seen her before and thought she had an illness, I'd shave the little bits of hair off. Edited August 4, 201213 yr by Didledee
August 4, 201213 yr Bolty, i bet the Aussie press are slating their own. It must be the best time to be a pommie down under since we won the Ashes
August 4, 201213 yr When she was interviewed I'd never seen her before and thought she had an illness, I'd shave the little bits of hair off. See my post from about 2 pages back. She has the same illness as Gail Porter.

August 4, 201213 yr wow are you on a crusade? so soon! Not really. I was just being satirical. Sorry for any offence taken by Mail readers though. Edited August 4, 201213 yr by no balls
August 4, 201213 yr but can she just decide to enter it now? She is entered (and broke British record on Friday), but my understanding that it was a fallback in case of disaster in the heptathlon (like 3 no jumps or throws). If she does compete she could reach the final but would do well to place. In Tokyo 1964 Mary Rand took gold in the long jump, then silver in the pentathlon, then bronze in the sprint relay.
August 4, 201213 yr Murray scheduled to play back to back finals. Hopefully he dusts off Roger quickly. Am at the Velodrome tomorrow morning. Worst session events wise, but still very excited. Then a race home to see the Finn class final. Will miss the Star class but we're very likely to win that. Could easily take 6 more tomorrow if the stars align!
