no balls Posted August 5, 2012 Posted August 5, 2012 (edited) Yeah in marathons or other endurance stuff they're useful when you need energy. People trying to lose weight should avoid them certainly They're useful, but really unneccesary in many sports. Maarsh & Birch are talking about a completely different sport to tennis. maaarsh Posted August 5, 2012 Posted August 5, 2012 Jason Kenny doesnt half seem under-rated. he justs quietly does his stuff, and fairplay to him for that like I said the other day, he's got gold in 2 olympics and he's only 24! Yep - Rio he'll be 28 and going for 3 golds! Quote

He's doing short sprints for 3 or 4 hours today. The body has metobolic pathways to process carbs in an incredibly inefficient way when going to 100% max power (you can 'hit the wall' inside 20 minutes if you're pushing hard enough' in the same way marathon runners do after 3 hours). maaarsh Posted August 5, 2012 Posted August 5, 2012 there's a queue forming for SPOTY In the bag for Wiggins, but the review of the year will be 8 hours long. Quote

maaarsh Posted August 5, 2012 Posted August 5, 2012 I don't doubt you have fiscal motivations for pushing power bars, because other than a nice change of texture they are not a serious option for taking on 4 figure calorie values during competition. Quote

Fiscal? Righto. I'll pass on your comments to my colleagues. A banker and an expert in nutrition to boot. There's no end to your talents. Edited August 5, 2012 by no balls Quote

birch-chorley Posted August 5, 2012 Posted August 5, 2012 panorama would have you believe so but they talk bollocks if you want to build up you need to take on 2g of protein per kg weight per day. Thats alot of protein, although you could try and get it from natural sources most folk use the shakes as its much more convenient Quote
Didledee Posted August 5, 2012 Posted August 5, 2012 I reckon 9 ball and 8 ball pool should be in the Olympics. Quote
