Heard on the news this morning, that lad who twittered about Tom Daley letting his late father down by not winning a medal yesterday, has been arrested on the grounds of 'maicious communication'.

What are our views on this?

My opinion is the boy (he's 17) should have his phone taken off him and he should get a good kicking. Taking his phone off him would probably be more of a punishment to him. He's probably received thousands upon thousands of (justifiably) vile and hateful replies and I'm pretty certain if he could turn back the clock he'd not click/press the 'tweet' button.

Are things like this really what our Police should be spending their time investigating? If this kid had been wagering a campaign of hate then I'd see this differently, but as I see it he's sent one single, stupid, despicable message.

In this new world where anyone can say anything to anyone and have it read by the entire world, where will this end? I'm pretty certain there are plenty of things said that are just as bad, thousands and thousands of times every day ... yet because these aren't said to famous people they'll never be looked into.

Can we get the Police to arrest BWFC21?

Honestly, it disturbs me. He probably needs a very good head doctor and a few months in a padded cell.

People need to be careful what they are posting on here, twittering etc.

The law has moved on, years ago the mods were really twitchy as the law was stuck into the 1950s, now you post something - you are responsible.

Arresting does seem silly,he wants a good talking to and to take some responsibility for his actions. Maybe the OB could do that like they used to when these little fuckers are about 10 and they'd not end up hateful nasty fuckers.

Or alternatively, make him walk round the swimming arena all day with a sandwich board telling people what little he's achieved in his life compared to Tom Daley.

Indeed. What that fuckstick said on here to you yesterday, joking aside, could be viewed as 'malicious' right?

I mean, if anyone accused me of fucking Traf's hairy (despite his protestations) arsehole I'd be livid.

If i was a celebrity i wouldn't be on twitter or any social media, because there is always one or two balloons who think it would be funny to try and offend you behind their keyboards

What was worrying about Mr 21 is that he appeared to have children of his own.

So when is Frankie Boyle getting lifted then, and countless other 'comedians'.

The lads clearly a cock but how far does this go?

For the record, Dean Holdsworth is still a wife battering cunt who cost us a cup final appearance.

You've got to be kidding?!

The future's bright.

See, I think Frankie Boyle is a fucking genius. He takes it right to the bounds of acceptability, almost surrealism.

He doesn't send comments directly to the people involved.

I think the ""I am going to find you and i'm going to drown you in the pool you cocky twat", may have been his undoing.

Really? I hadn't seen/heard that anywhere.

The tweet that is headlining everywhere is, "You let your dad down i hope you know that."

After Tom Daly retweeted the comment his profile was open for anyone to see his previous tweets and I suspect that's why he's been pulled. Some of his previous tweets were threatening violence to various others on Twitter. He had 39000 follows for some strange reason and that increased to 49000 before it was blocked. There is a YouTube video knocking about of him ranting after inhaling helium.

I think the fella is funny but then again I'm not a soppy cunt. However, I'd disagree with what you say about not sending comments directly to people involved...

It's tame to me and you, but directly referring to another GB Olympian via Twatter as a 'dolphin face' would be offensive to some. Funny maybe, but still offensive.

He tarred his brush and became a proper cunt here though....
