I agree with Sir_Francis, this sort of stuff has always gone on and always will, it's not a recent thing. I'm not sure that Britiain is really anymore broken now than it was say 50 years ago. I also don't think that Britain is anymore broken than any other country in the world

I'd love to know, EG. I'd like there to be a solution which is not brought about because of the decision makers' politics but just what is right.

It's easy for the likes of us to condemn these people on feral estates, but where are they getting their moral compass from if they only socialise with their own kind. What if you were the only person the estate who works and lives in an old fashioned nuclear family? Would it be easier to just be like your neighbours?

We need to teach the folk on these feral estates to earn their benefits in some way by doing some sort of social work. No work = no benefit. They should also have to keep their houses and gardens in good presentable condition and if this isn't done then they lose their home.

They see benefits as an easy way of living. 12 months maximum benefits in any five year period should be the way to go.

I accept it is as old social problem. And the fact that it is so old tells us that there is no solution.

It wouldn't be for us all to be the same , but most folkes who are like me publicaly eat and drink in places where folk like them don't go. Certainly take holidays where they don't go and if it means spending a bit more to be scroat free, then it's money well spent!

Where do we draw the line? What makes someone feral scum for drawing off the state? Some mothers are single through no fault of their own. They struggle to juggle work and kids, so opt for the easy option that our society has created for them. Are they scum also?

I'm struggling to see a link here with scrounging scum to a young girl being murdered.

 

None of us know the circumstances of her death and despite this social underclass that has evolved I've yet to see any proof that being a scruffy, toothless, sponger means you're more likely to murder one of your own kids.
