Salou

Her indoors wanted to go, to this theme park and water park they have there.

Is it a decent place? Or just the same as most spanish resorts?

Salou is just a typical British invaded Spanish seaside resort. Plenty of bars, big beach, nice weather.

The theme park Port Aventura is well worth a visit though. Tallest roller coaster in europe and also loads of other decent rides. http://www.rcdb.com/4792.htm

Quality at Easter, full of students on sports tours.

I've done the 'tour' for the last 2 years. It is absolutely unreal but utter utter carnage. Ive never seen and probably never will see again some of the antics that I saw over there. As for the place its alright, nothing special but a nice beach.

Think Benidorm, before it became popular to slag it off !

Salou is rough as, Universal Studios place isn't. One's cheap, the other isn't.

Can get a 2 day park ticket for £43 each, 1 day theme park 1 day water park. Fair enough price IMO, considering the ammount they charge at blackpool.

Unless this happens, it proved that she wears the pants in the relationship and Ryan is henpecked

Forget Salou and go down to Cambrils which is the next stop along.

I've booked to go to this Portaventura gaff for next summer, i know it's waaaaaay off - but not many free sprog places left.

Anyone off here been?

Ryan will be booked in for spa days FACT

Salou is biz and full of dutch mo fo's, the theme park is superb though.

Port Aventura is brilliant, lots to do some scary rides and the shows are great, temple del fuego is my favourite show and if you are staying at the park, comfy and not bad food and early access to park

Stayed in Hotel Port Aventura last year and can't complain about it. Theme Park is fantastic and they sell yards of lager for about €5 a pop.

This time next year, i had to book early to get a free child place for my daughter - they get snapped up pretty quick for the school hols.

Stayin all inc at the El Paso which is a sister hotel to the Hotel Port Aventura.

Not really my kind of holiday, but my 8 year old daughter will love it - and if the kids are happy an' all that.

How does this work then? What I say, goes. :blum:

Stayed there at Camping Sanguli for 4 years running, 93-97, it was great for the kids, been back to Salou twice for stag do's, it's OK typical Spanish mainland

Port Aventura is shit - unless you like wind and sand...

Theme Park will be very busy but is open until midnight. I went this time last year and found it best not to head into the park until about 5pm. Catch some rays and beer pool side in the day. Best of both world's can't go wrong.

If you want to go in the day to the park you can but express passes at the hotel reception for about €7 a head. Straight to the front of the potential 2 hour queues for the bigger rides - worth doing. Didn't think much to the water park and had to pay to get in but it is half price staying in a Port Aventura hotel.
