Indeed you are part correct but doesn't explain the disproportionate amount Megson received given his obvious limitations. You see Sam could spend £10m and get a better team than Megson spending £40m, so we had to spend big to stay up. Moral of story is keep Sam happy

Sam did a great job keeping us in the Prem, and then qualifying us for Europe and entertaining us with some great signings.

 

Sadly said players weren't young any more and there's been no sign that he built for the future via the Academy or by signing young players from other clubs. That's partly why it's all fallen apart so quickly.

 

The only good thing from Saturday is that the under 18s beat Arsenal 5-1.

We got dicked by pub teams throughout preseason and all Coyle did was bang on about fitness this fitness that. Why did all our players look utterly fucked in comparison if we have spent the last 2 months working on fitness?
