September 11, 201213 yr Reet, it would seem that teaching isn't a 'real job'. I'm sure I read that being a traffic warden isn't a real job too in the last few days. Which other professions should we add to the list? Edited September 11, 201213 yr by DazBobParr
September 11, 201213 yr Time and motion or whatever it's called these days. The lot in the 'leisure' part of Bolton One seem to have a cushy number going... Do those in 'hanging around doing nowt' type of jobs not get bored? I've always found if you're grafting hard then the time goes twice as quickly. Never understood those content to sit or stand around doing f*ck all, the day must surely drag? Used to piss me off when I did a job where the end of the day was when the day's work was finished, seeing lazy feckers skiving, having constant cig breaks etc. Crossing over from the 'teacher' thread - these glassbacked twats never seemed to get the sack either - and they were in the private sector. Never understood those content to sit or stand around doing f*ck all, the day must surely drag? don't get me started on them types, I have no time for them.. I have a part time job alongside the business purely as the jobs very hit and miss.. There's about 12 staff and from that only about 4 know how to put a decent days work in.. When i'm on an 8 hour shift it seems like 2, purely as I knuckle down and crack on, they whinge about the shift dragging and spend all day texting or on facebook... all this in a retail environment !!!
September 11, 201213 yr Time and motion or whatever it's called these days. That was my first ever job. Now I clean and sweep up. That's a proper job. Edited September 11, 201213 yr by no balls
September 11, 201213 yr That was my first ever job. Now I clean and sweep up. That's a proper job. I always wondered if, once a year, someone followed the time and motion woman around with a calculator/clipboard combo - whilst she followed a 'real' worker around?
September 11, 201213 yr I always wondered if, once a year, someone followed the time and motion woman around with a calculator/clipboard combo - whilst she followed a 'real' worker around? Fuck that, we were the management & therefore not accountable. 9am - turn up 9.30am boss comes in my office waiting for the tea trolley, we banter about football (Burnley fan) 9.45am breakfast trolley turns up 10.15am - totter into the mill to look down on the minions. Spend a good half hour taking the piss 11.00am - do a time study on my favourite machinist so we can have a gossip 12 noon - lunch in the canteen, 50p for a full meal 12.30 - Laddies at the end of the road for a punt and a few ciggies with the weavers who are wagging it. 1pm - Type up my findings from the time study 2pm - afternoon tea trolley then everyone in my office for a chin wag. 3pm - boss stays behind & asks me what I've done today and which machinist shall we piss off later. 4pm - walk round the mill looking superior 4.30pm - go wom.
September 11, 201213 yr Any job that prevents the efficient process of someone else's job. Step forward councillors, anyone with the word 'inspector' in their title and traffic wardens

September 11, 201213 yr Kit man You're not wrong, how the fuck can someone, who's only job is to make sure the players are turned out right, end up hastily sticking insulating tape around the players' sleeves when there's been a death? It's a real f*cking mark of respect that. Nipping out to B+Q twenty minutes before kick-off.

It's a real f*cking mark of respect that. Nipping out to B+Q twenty minutes before kick-off. That's something I've often thought about. Whilst we don't want to go down the professional mourners route, any visible mark of respect should look like you actually gave a shit about it. Every pro club should have twenty or so proper black armbands simiilar to a captain's armband: they'd cost fuck all and it'd look like a proper tribute.
September 11, 201213 yr Im an office puff, but when I was between jobs, and worked with a pal who did Gardening, had his own business. All through summer, and the lads doing it were lazy bastards includng the 'Business owner'......10 breaks a day, drink breaks, fag breaks, dinner breaks, butty breaks. Was a joke. Stripping a garden and ripping up decking should have took 1 day for 2 / 3 lads to do, but these lazy feckers took a week, and would keep telling me to slow down, and chill out!!! Most these manual workers do fook all. Edited September 11, 201213 yr by Pablo
