September 21, 201213 yr kieth hill and david flitcroft bolton born and bred should certainly have their heart in the job and be keen to take it. not sure if it matters but i'd take that over coyle and that sandy bloke I don't think 'heart in the job' is a problem now. It just isn't enough.
September 21, 201213 yr If he was chopped I can see SKD getting it on a temporary basis until some other person was appointed. Would you keep him if all suddenly went well?
September 21, 201213 yr should certainly have their heart in the job and be keen to take it. Whilst it's a nice and romantic notion, that should be bottom of the list of what we're looking for. Coyle loves this club.
September 21, 201213 yr Whilst it's a nice and romantic notion, that should be bottom of the list of what we're looking for. Coyle loves this club. lets look at the the other way then. is the emotional attachment part of the problem? my questions stands; does it matter? either way, i currently i have no idea if hill is better or worse than what weve got.

I do think it's a 'nice to have'. When Coyle first came in the fans took to him and the atmosphere was unrecogniseable to how it had been under the previous wanker. I think this definitely helped us to turn our form around and stay up that season. Ultimately though, this 'honeymoon period' cannot last ... and it didn't. At some point you need to have a manager and coaching staff that can out-think their opposition and know who to play, where to play them and how to play them. We don't have that. Of course I'd like us to have a manager who is both a competent manager and someone who can engage with us fans. But if the option is one or the other then I'd opt for the former ... just as long as he doesn't refer to us as "that lot"
September 21, 201213 yr Benitez - zero chance, he turned down Sampdoria as he wanted to be challenging for trophys in his next job

September 21, 201213 yr When Coyle came he was received as an ex player from the period just before we rose up the league. He had had some success with a couple of other clubs so he was given a chance. However....................... He brought in 6 arseholes from Turf Moor, 3 coaches and 3 crap players and 5 are still there. Owen can stay for my money but the 3 wise men should go now. Get a decent coach to work with Coyle and send Eagles and Mears on loan to Rochdale. If that Steve Davies came up to me with his clipboard I would shove it up his arse.As for Simple Sandy.................
September 21, 201213 yr Get a decent coach to work with Coyle and send Eagles and Mears on loan to Rochdale... OK, send our best player on loan. Give your a head a wobble on the way out.
September 21, 201213 yr Coyle is the manager and the buck stops with him. Any talk of keeping him and getting rid of the coaching staff he appointed is just avoiding the issue.

September 21, 201213 yr What would the fans consensus be if we appointed someone like Hill? Lack of ambition and under pressure from the off? i thought that when we got fat sam in wanted roy evans miself, at the time
September 21, 201213 yr i thought that when we got fat sam in wanted roy evans miself, at the time Me too. I was too young to remember him as a player. Remember being completely uninspired.
