September 26, 201213 yr What connects all 5 of Liverpool's European Cup final/Champions League final triumphs ? Michael Shields never assaulted anyone with a paving slab at any of them?
September 26, 201213 yr The song, "We've won it 5 times, we've won it five tiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiimes, in Istanbul, we won it five times."
September 26, 201213 yr Those 5 victories were all down to their own doing but any defeat is someone else fault? The referee, the linesman, a beach ball, an opposing manager, an opposing player.....
September 26, 201213 yr I only got home from work at 10 past 11, so watched the league cup highlights and then hit WW. First thought is the 5 wins were in "Olympic Stadiums" 2 at Rome's 1960 Stadio Olimpico, 1 at Wembley (1948 Olympic Stadium), 1 at Parc des Princes (Paris 1900 but not 1924 Games allegedly had some events there), and 1 at Istanbul's Ataturk Olympic Stadium - built for Turkey's failed bid for the 2008 Games).. Anyway, it's time for bed!
September 27, 201213 yr A wildcard guess is that because they won the trophy 5 times they earned the right to keep the trophy. A new champions league trophy was commissioned after their win in Istanbul. :ball: :ball:
September 27, 201213 yr A new champions league trophy was commissioned after their win in Istanbul. :ball: :ball: Nearly right. A new trophy had to be commissioned after the old one was stolen.

September 27, 201213 yr and the correct answer is that liverpool played in their all red strip on each occasion whilst all the defeated finalists played in white Do you mean as well as the Olympic link?
September 27, 201213 yr Author Do you mean as well as the Olympic link? it wasn't the answer i was looking for,but i'll have you have a point for it
September 27, 201213 yr Do you mean as well as the Olympic link? Although wikipedia for Parc des Princes asserts it was an Olympic venue in 1900 that is not apparent in the info on those games. Certainly the athletics was not there, and I don't think the cycling was either - and it was a velodrome at the time.

September 27, 201213 yr Author Fuck all to do with me S. But I thought it worthy of mention. a scouser at work asked me these questions and i took his word as gospel. you'd never believe what else he said ? they were innocent re hillsborough
September 27, 201213 yr Says olympic site, not venue . . . whatever that means. Well there was no village until LA in 1932, so it's not that. But after 1896 and prior to 1932 the games were competitions in different sports, spread over several months. The 1900 games were just a sideshow to the Fifth Universal EXPOsition.
