Just had a mooch on one of their forums and they are bang up for this cracking away day loads of tickets etc. Could be a good draw this, being the underdog for a change rather than expecting to win every week (this season) would love a good cup run.

They might be well up for it, but i'm 95% sure that our fans won't be.

I can't pretend that I am, its a massive let down for me, and i'm pretty sure I won't be the only one thinking that.

Plus its hardly a David v Goliath game, it was only last season that we would be expecting to win this game, in fact beating them this year wouldn't be that much of a shock to me.

My biggest reason for wanting us to win and progress is to get another go at getting an interesting away tie in the 4th round draw.

I don't think you could pay me to go to this. Fucking hate cup home games.

Other than the euros I can't remember one I've enjoyed.

Semi final of the Carling Cup, Villa 5-1?

Surely you enjoyed that one?

I agree though, most are miserable

It was 5-2

See that goal then. Shit Sunderland. We'll smash them.

Whats happened to our lack of enthuisasm for the fa cup and league cup?

How has it become so looked upon as being shit,

It was 5-2

Minor details :D . Unless of course conceding that 2nd goal meant stevieb didn't enjoy it.

:D ...well it made it 3-2 at the time,so he probably fucked off to scotts fearing the worse!

Haha. You know me too well.

Oneil will be gone by then at this rate....

2-0 at Naarrwich.

Look terrible.

I always feel its the last thing anyone wants when a team gets relegated from Premier League then draws a Premier League team straight away the following season in the cup, certainly brings no excitement for me whether we had been drawn at home or away to them.

Wanted Preston away really, but never mind Ill probably end up going to this anyway!

Unless it's free for ST holders then less than 10k on.

Shit draw, freezing bollock cold and like a morgue.

We'll nick it though as they will play their reserves.

I think the club miss a trick with this. A lot of clubs, including Premiership sides like Spurs allow fans free entry to early rounds in the cup with there season tickets. Whether folk took up the offer is a different matter but i think it would certainly increase crowds/atmospheres at cup games.

Do they actually. I always thought there was a minimum price that the fa decide? They should do this. More bods on.

It can't be as simple as that though. The clubs in the prem who do this usually add the cost into the initial ST price because the demand is there. They are not giving a free game as surely they have to offset the cost if they are drawn at home as the away club will be wanting a percentage of the gate. If all spurs ST holders took up the option at home to say a Barrow, then Barrow are not going to walk away with nothing

I'll ask the spurs ST I know but I ain't having it that they let them in for free, they have loads of them, often charge £50+ for games and pretty much always sell out

As for where did our enthusiasm for the cup go, think it went when we got to the PL and stayed there, 13k home fans v villa was piss poor for a semi

The only enjoyable cup game off top of head where everyone was up for it was brum, and pre stoke

Fa set minimum prices for each round. Rising per round. £15 or £20 for 3rd round?

Well if we aren't looking anything like by January we'll never have a better chance of making a go of it than this season. If we are looking decent in the league I'd hope dougie isn't daft enough to play the first team.

And you are automatically charged for any subsequent home games whether you want to go or not, and they don't do cheap tickets at spurs

Fair play for the idea but you pay in advance and it's not cheap, not compared to our prices

Utd tried the same thing a few years back, may even still do, pissed a lot of fans off

Edited by ZicoKelly

but, you're not getting it for nowt

No, not really. No doubt if the club stuck a tenner on the price of season tickets to cover this, fans would kick off.

Fact just lifted from the BBC

Sunderland have won just two of their last 22 Premier League games

They're worser than us!

I am out
