City/utd Games Taking Precedence In Bolton Pubs...

I was an uber-shit fan on Saturday, but, on my way to my long previously arranged engagement I nipped into my local to check on the score/watch ten minutes while waiting for the taxi...

West Ham/City on every screen, with hardly anyone watching - as I was leaving, others smoking outside were muttering grievances amongst themselves, I piped up and told the landlord (a Mackem, I think) it was unacceptable. All he could do was look shamefaced and mumble some horseshit about orders from above - telling me to ring the brewery area manager or some other bollocks.

This is a pub that was in earshot of Burnden. Now I know a few will be of the opinion that it should be irrelevant, folk should be at The Reebok etc. but, I'd like to know everyone's opinions on this...

F*ck it, a poll...

Must admit, if I was sober, which I usually am these days, I'd probably just leave it alone. Or maybe not.

There's a difference between rocking up at the Reebok in a Barcelona or Inter shirt and a manyoo one.

Surely anyone who follows football remotely closely can see wearing one of our hated teams shirt to the Reebok especially on a non derby day is bound to get a shoeing?

Anyone see those two lads in united shirts at the reebok on saturday? They were in east lower

Seen it a few times mate, me and Traf seen a chap of about 8 with one one this season, he was with his Dad to, fucking idiot.

Also seen one a couple of seasons back, probably about 14, the orange warriors ejected him after soomone brought it to their attention.

Doffy landlord tells people to "Go to Manchester" if they want to watch any of them.

Doffy landlord tells people to "Go to Manchester" if they want to watch any of them.

And he is a Man United fan.

Does he walk the walk though? Do you see him putting on his coat and cap and heading out on Champions League nights?

"Where you off Alf?"

"Going to (a pub in) Manchester..."

There was a kid of about eight waltzing around McDonalds at Middlebrook amongst all the Bolton fans on Saturday, before the Cardiff game.

I'm sure his dad must have told him that supporting a "big club" like United makes him "special".

If Bolton are on, they will go on.

If not, then its a different point.

I think if a kids wandering around then its not his fault, plus he's a kid and givinghim stick is just wrong.

His Dad should know better letting him wear it but if its the kids first few games and he's just a football fan then come on, he's just a young kid.

Adults wearing one deserve a shoeing.

I think the 8 year old would have done you both if you had plucked up the courage to say something!

Watched the match in a bar on Saturday, I got there about 4 and when the manager said sorry only showing the West Ham City game, I told him that Id phoned up the day before to ask if the Bolton Game was being shown & I was told that it was.

He said fair enough, put our match on and left it on even when 4 of his regulars walked out when he told them which match was being shown and why. His attitude was first asks , gets.
