City/utd Games Taking Precedence In Bolton Pubs...

I was an uber-shit fan on Saturday, but, on my way to my long previously arranged engagement I nipped into my local to check on the score/watch ten minutes while waiting for the taxi...

West Ham/City on every screen, with hardly anyone watching - as I was leaving, others smoking outside were muttering grievances amongst themselves, I piped up and told the landlord (a Mackem, I think) it was unacceptable. All he could do was look shamefaced and mumble some horseshit about orders from above - telling me to ring the brewery area manager or some other bollocks.

This is a pub that was in earshot of Burnden. Now I know a few will be of the opinion that it should be irrelevant, folk should be at The Reebok etc. but, I'd like to know everyone's opinions on this...

F*ck it, a poll...

Good job the cunt didnt wander into the Esl social club.

How were they allowed to be escorted out, they should have been kicked all the way back to Salford.

Where was this cunt spotted in the ground? He really should've come down the ESL Social Club for a tea time KO when the members had been out a fair few hours.

It would've been an interesting discussion.

To be fair my brothers mate has had a season ticket at BWFC And united for like 10 years....

I remember being in a Working Mens Club when i was in Cumbria and asking the bloke behind the bar to put the live Bolton game on. Watched the first half and a commitee man came over saying we are turning the Liverpool game on now, but for your inconveniance, you can have a free pint. I supped it and watched the second half in a pub round the corner.

Why if you like football

Grimsby away, first match of the season under Rioch, one of the home fans came up to the segregation fence kissing the badge on his Man U replica shirt.

He got a more hostile reaction than he anticipated and disappeared back into the crowd like the red filth he was.

Ummph wtf can't be reet something is wrong!

Why if you like football

You may like it but you don't understand it if you think it is acceptable.

Why ? Because you can see someone in another shirt and genuinely think "worse things happen in life"

You may like it but you don't understand it if you think it is acceptable.

Or maybe in the eyes of others, we're too tribal for our own good.

I grew up with that ethic, I still have it. Going back to the football thread Gonzo started, some of the people I love the most are in my life due to the tribal element of the game.

Lad I saw at Boro last week had a half and half Bolton/United scarf. Sickening.
