After today's pantomime performance and us showing festive spirit(or drinking large amounts of it),i'm not one bit optimistic for the visit of

Jasper Carrot's favourites.

Dougie Freedman will know his honeymoon period is over and somehow needs to mould his shower of overpaid underperforming shower of shite into an effective team unit.

I would have thought anyone who's watched football for any length of time would know that a ball 3 yards from the goal line should be claimed by the goal keeper especially if there is no traffic in front of him (traffic in front is a major factor in sticking on the line) in this case there was none, later in the game Bogdan did come and punch successfully one away despite a load of traffic. I am pretty sure Bogdan would if he had the time again come for that ball. Just to clarify Cassie what division of the Bolton pie n peas sunday league football did you play at? Just so I know for future reference so I know who can take the moral high ground on footballing debates?

Problem being, he's got Zat Knight ballwatching and making an attempt to head the ball, so that would block his view. If he doesn't get a good contact there's a player drifting in unmarked to tap it in. That worries me more than the fact Bogdan didn't claim an up and under punt into the box.

there is no way bogdan should be coming for that ball.

 

and if he did he wouldnt of got there unless he was stood under it. His standing posistion, angle of the cross and speed of the ball meant it should of been dealt with by the defensive line, knight should of not let zigic in between him and mears.

 

Overall the ball was a good delivery met by a strong tall forward, knight positioning is in question not bogdan.

Possibly, but there's not a football fan in the country who criticises the opposition's defending every time their team scores.

First of all Bogdan shouted for the ball and initially came for it as confirmed by Ani, any defender at any level would expect him to catch it from there on in, Mears tried to help Bogdan by attempting to shield and hold off Zigic, yes Knight is at fault but so is the keeper even if you think he should not come off his line the fact is he shouted to claim and then did not go through with the call, no one can say it was not partly his fault.

I think with most goals like this it is about how the unit performs, close the ball down better the cross aint quite as good, Bogdan more desicive he clears the ball, even if it is a punch , Knight mis reads the flight and gets caught under the ball, Mears could maybe be stronger on Zigic.

 

But given you chose to go to Tranmere instead of the game your view is null and void.

Mears doesn't need to out jump him as the ball was met at just over head height

 

It's positioning, body shape and strength.

 

He was facing the wrong bloody way and was weak as piss; at least put Zigic off

coudnt agree more mounts. Thought bogdan should have comefor it at the time. Now i seen it again the replays confirmed he should have come for it and took all three out aswell

What happened to goal keepers being so loud, you could near them in the stands? Seems to me that modern goalkeepers are taught to keep their gobs shut nowadays
